Hey dudes, any way i can lock the cabinet volume, rather than the whole cabinet settings?
I am going thru a bunch of choices for a good clean sound, and would like to keep the cab volume high enough to get a decent level.
When i try to lock the volume, the whole cab is locked...
thx!

No you cant lock the cab volume, but there is no difference between the cab volume control and the "normal"volume control anyway.hope that helps.

Ah, i thought that the cabinet volume was the best way to raise level without getting as much undesired saturation...?

Yes and yes....The cab volume is just scaled differently from the channel volume, easier to make fine adjustments. If you have an EQ on X, the cab volume is also a very important part of your overall volume control

Locking the cab volume would have the same effect as raising the master volume once.
Why don't you just increase master vol? -

Why don't you just increase master vol?If my master volume is already cranked, i can get more level this way.
Some profiles are pretty low to start with...thx for the replies!

If I crank the master on my one, I'll blow away the cones of any of the speakers I'm using.....what are you connecting to and how?

Main out, 1/4 inch into RME Fireface UF @ -10dB... -

can you name a few of these profiles?
The Profiler has a pretty healthy output. -
Low output ones are mostly users profiles, especially clean ones:
i.e. Fender Concert series, Zo-DI-Yak, VAB clean, S.Mehl clean...etc -
It makes auditioning those profiles for evaluation a pain, since monitoring is too low, even when master volume is cranked...
Forced to get into the cabinets and crank the volume there too... -
what are your master output levels (press hold master button)

Might he be referring to the rig volume control on the bottom right, and not the master volume on the top right? That's the only thing that makes any sense of this to me ...
-
On the profiles that i mentioned, cranking the master volume all the way (10.0) is not loud enough for me to monitor them.
I am not touching the volume at the bottom right, since this adds saturation when pushed too much... -
Again, most profiles are fine, only some clean users' profiles are much too soft...
-
since you mentioned that it's only some of the clean profiles:
Have you tried adjusting the clean sense in the input section?
-
Have you looked at the volume settings in all the stomps and effects? There are a number of places where these are somewhat hidden and can have a significant impact on volume.

Adjusting the clean sense certainly works.
Only concern: if i lock the clean sense at a high setting, will i compromise the distorted profiles?thanks!

good point, thanks!

Clean Sense does not affect the gain of distorted profiles.BTW the clean profiles you mentioned were quite low in volume also with the input settings I had set for atleast one of my guitars...
