Welcome CG
Overland Park KS here guys. My Kemper and I will be at CrossroadsKC at Grinders this Friday night
Our band's other guitarist has 2 of them. They sound great. But they sound quite similar to my CLRs. So if the CLR wasn't for you, I doubt the L2T will float your boat. They are both FRFR.
I also power a 2x12 cabinet on stage with a Matrix power amp (my Kemper is not powered). That sounds very 'cab-like" for me. (It should - it is a cab lol).
Display MoreWell.... I went ahead and ordered a used Matrix GT1000FX despite being unbelievably turned off by their staff. I called the USA number to ask some questions and they guy kind of insulted me when I asked if they would be willing to do free shipping if I ordered a new one. The guy was very "British" and arrogant and I got the impression that they don't think very highly of Americans but have no problem taking our money. In fact, he kind of acted like he would be doing me a favor by selling me one in the first place. I was on the fence about going with a Matrix at all after that... A little humility would be nice.
Matrix GT1000FX-1U user here - I love it. Powers my Avatar 2x12 Greenback cab.
I know who you are talking about at Matrix - sarcastic guy with a British accent - I think that is just how he is - really didn't bother me much but I can see how he can put people off....he pretty much answered the telephone anytime of any day I called which was nice.

This little guy came in yesterday (just in case someone wants to see a "real" picture of it and I hope I'm in the right forum, lol). Great tool for mini sessions or just going through rigs in the studio.
What is this and where did you get it?
There is a "Pure Booster" in the effects. Depending on the position in the chair, you can "just" increase the volume or boost the amp.
I use a Volume expression pedal.
Set at location "Post effect" and range is +4.
This works as a clean boost at the Kemper output not depending on profiles.
I have used both of the above solutions.....currently using the volume pedal method.
For the Pure Booster, put it in slot x and adjust the dB boost to taste. This worked very well when I used this method.
For the volume pedal method, I have the volume pedal post amp and set it to ~+3ish.....
I have a second pedal that is a morph - I use this to typically add a little bit of gain in the amp, and sometimes fade in a boost pedal (via the mix parameter), and occasionally a delay and/or reverb (again via mix parameter).
This way I can have quiet rhythm, loud rhythm, quiet lead, loud lead.....and variations in between because I am using expression pedals.
Here is my board....

Morph is left, volume is right.
Finally, I typically play ONE rig all night with variations on the effects, gain, boosts, etc...all controlled with morph. And volume controlled as described. I have learned the less rigs used the easier it is too match levels.
YMMV, but this is very flexible for me.
@chopsfromhell where did you source the necessary parts?
How do you like the Amplifire? And how is it compared to the Kemper?
How do you like the Amplifire? And how is it compared to the Kemper?
I love the Amplifire. I love the Kemper more.....I have gigged the Amplifire several times though and it is a fantastic piece of gear. While I believe the Kemper sounds better (subjective) I feel that the Amplifire is a better bang for the $. I feel lucky that I have such a great sounding and compact (and relatively inexpensive) piece of gear as my backup!
Why would you put the wireless on the pedalboard , this way you would need a cable running to the input of the kemper no ?
Raf
Correct regarding the cable Raf.....originally had an Amplifire on the board as well (as a backup) - pic below.....should probably flip out for a rack wireless.

Looks great. I think i will follow suit once i buy the remote. Just to confirm, they are the Dunlop DVP4 Volume X mini ??
Correct.
By "singer" i'm assuming you mean "guitar tone"
That goes without saying sir! Great guitar tone. Your whole band is REALLY good!
Hey @greenblob I am in a tribute to AC/DC - KC/DC (based out of KC lol) - it is easy to play sweet stages when tributing AC/DC
Enjoying this thread - some great stages! @greenblob - your singer is ridiculously good.....great band bro!
@Klappy - thank you sir! It's really more of a glorified hobby for all of us as we all have "real" jobs and families. Sure is fun though
We use 2 Kempers. You can see our rhythm guitarist's Kemper in this photo. Mine is racked and is typically offstage left. Marshall cabs are all fakes.

This was a beautiful venue. Pre sound check.

2 of the new mini Jim Dunlop pedals. I really like the way they feel. Small and light are also a plus. Replaced Missions (which are also very good).
I use one all the time, no matter what the length of the cable. No issues here. Cable lengths 10 - 40 feet.
I notice same problem on my remote.
Welcome back Andy! Site looks great!
