Ok, sorry. Just checked the roundtrip-latency of my RME Fireface and the I/O buffer was set to 256 samples which causes
a latency of 23ms. I guess my problem hasn´t anything to do with the Kemper.....

Hello,
yesterday I´ve been testing reamping with the Kemper. It worked really fine after I got my RME mixer under control;)
I used the analog way for reamping. And now I´ve got a question:Will I get rid of the latency if I use SPDIF instead of the analog ins/outs?

I would prefer a shock mounted rack. All this tiny electronic parts in the Kemper...I would be afraid that one day you could use the Kemper as a shaker:)
Check the SKB shockmount racks. The remote fits into the lid. But that has only 4U.... -
Lets say you created a good selling product and feed your family with this income.
Now somebody copies your product, names it the same and offers it for a lower price.
Consumers don´t buy your product anymore but the cheaper copy.
What are you going to do with this? Leave it or press charges? -
Believe me, scarcely any serious recording uses programmed drums.
At least commercial productions use tools to tighten live played drums. Tools like the Beat Detective in Pro Tools, etc....

It´s not about tube or solid state oder digital. It´s about EQ. The smoothest, biggest sounding guitar sound with the most expensive boutique gear might not be able to cut through the mix if the EQ is not set properly to your specific acoustic environment, respectively your music genre.
Many engineers in the Rock genres f.e. choose dynamic mics like sm57 or md421, because these mics deliver the midrange punch which might be needed to cut through the mix. You might look up for some profiles which use these kind of mics and I´m sure you will get a step closer to your aim.
You could also search for some mixing tutorial on youtube f.e.. That can be an ear opener.
And don´t listen to people who say the Kemper is not able to cut through the mix or whatever. They just want to stir up trouble.
Good luck! -
I go from Monitor Out to the amp, because I want to use the profiles.

Nice combination of mics is also: Sennheiser MD 441 + Shure SM 57. I use that for clean Sounds.

I have seen nowhere any great professional guitar player with great tone, that uses kemper live (not at home) with a real cab and MIKES the cab.
I 'd be really happy to see links of some great professionals that get great tones live and use the Kemper with MIKED cabs, to ask for their advice.
Honestly, why would anybody want to do that?
Have a nice sunday:)

That’s when I used JUST HEADPHONES.
So Problem solved. You need new Headphones probably. Did you try different ones?

You can plug the KPA also into the mic preamps and decide which input source of your recording device sounds better to you.
We plugged my KPA recently into a tube preamp for recording purpose. That colored the sound in a nice way. -
Which profiles do you use?
I would check the mic setup that was used on profiling your profiles. Some mics frequency response are raised in this kHz area you are talking about.
Shure sm57 and sennheiser md421 have a peak somewhere there. And these mics are very popular in front of guitar cabinets.https://de-de.sennheiser.com/g…file/1436/MD_421_II_D.pdf

If it is not the noisegate it sounds to me more as if your guitar has got a setup problem than it´s a problem with the kemper. Check the nut mill of the string. If it is too big for your string gauge, the string might lose volume or sustain.

I recently connected a floor monitor besides the main outs to the Kemper when I was recording to a playback. So my setup was 2 studio monitors plus 1 extra speaker only for the guitar. If I had bigger studio monitors this setup would make sense. But my 5,5" AdamAX5 just don´t have enough low end to fit into this setup.
I´m sure it would make a better live feel if there is an extra speaker for guitar.
Feedback you can achieve with turning your monitors louder, like paults said.Or was your question meant like you want to record the guitar with an additional room mic? That can make sense as well if you like to mix a room sound to the closed miced Kemper sounds.

Could be a rotary effect as well.

Ok. Du hast ja gelesen, was ich in Beitrag 21 geschrieben habe. Mich wundert das auch.

No, apart from a bugfix a few years ago regarding the bass response the profiling hasn't changed. But people generally have gotten better at creating content, i.e. how to profile correctly.
Danke, Ingolf! Also doch, zumindest was die "bass response" angeht. -
The interview with Peter Weihe is from 2012.....
Und?

I can make better profiles after drinking 4 beers and with another 4 in my hands, operating the profiler with my tongue!!!
Btw, have there been any software improvements for the profiling-process in the last 5 years? I mean like, are the profiles soundwise better in 2018 than in 2013 because Kemper changed something?
