Thinking of switching from my 4 12 cab and was wondering what experiences everyone has had with passive options powered by the KPA?
Passive Speaker Options for Powered KPA???

The passive Atomic CLR and the passive Matrix Q12 are obvious recommendations.

Had the same question a few weeks ago, went for the Matrix as living in Europe (delivery costs). Very happy with my decision.

I originally had an unpowered KPA, so I purchased the powered Q12a. Found a deal on a Powerhead version of the KPA and now I'm using the Matrix with the KPA's poweramp instead of the internal. Sounds damn good to me.

Any recommendation for low power (bedroom level) passive speakers ?

Thanks guys. Anyone try passive Yamaha stage monitors?

I have used a passive 12" and 15" yamaha with the powerhead and loved the result. I really don't have something to give you as a comparison but I felt like the 12" was tighter on the bass end and the 15" had a little more projection. I have been using them at practice since those are the available speakers at our site. I have been impressed by them.

editing, sorry folks, i posted on the wrong thread

I have a 1x12 Xitone wedge and it sounds awesome, so there's that.
For lower power, in addition to the Yamahas already mentioned, you could look at some of the Alto TS speakers - they seem pretty popular. Alternatively, if you don't need to be able to gig with this setup, just good a nice pair of passive desk monitors. My DAW is running a pair of (active) M-Audio AV40s and they sound ridiculously good.

Iam using and lovin the Xitone 2x12 FRFR passive cab. Has more of a in the room feel. It is also very well built(like a tank) and its a smaller cab making it easy to carry. about 52 pounds.
I sold my Yamaha DXR12 because of the Xitone cab. My buddy has a Atomic CLR and he likes it but prefers my cab which his talking about selling the Atomic CLR.

Not to stir anyone up here. But for me, my favorite option with my PowerHead is a traditional speaker cab. I just can't generate that same in room "feel" with any FRFR speakers. Can you get a nice tone? Of course. When recording I will use FRFR for reference with my monitors. However, when I want to "feel" my tone, I just can't find a replacement for a traditional speaker cab. I just think it is all the years of playing through a traditional cab that it is the tone I identify with. Also, as noted in the Kemper Literature, ALL classic rock we grew up with was recorded from a mic'd amp. So not only is it the feel, I also think it is the sound I most identify with.
Again, I am not saying it is the "best". But it certainly is the best for me.

I like my Mes 1*12 with my Kemper. Will check a tiny little TW-Audio Monitor soon (M8 if I am not wrong...)
