Hi guys!
Please tell me best profile for lead guitar? Free and paid. Style - rock and metal
Totally depends on your guitar and hands and what kind of sound you like. There are almost as many rock and metal lead tones as there are rock and metal lead players. Maybe give us a sense of which artists/songs you like and then we can point you in the right direction.
If you´re more a metal-lead player I´d give the "Liquid Leads" rig from the LL-pack a shot. Sounds incredibly cool!
TAF 1987x solo
Search for Erik's Legacy. Really good profile, works great with all my guitars, not only JEM
off the top of my head my fav are
nolly 5150 lead
slash profile I use
one of the TAF 1987x
Lasse Chug chug with reverb delay
one of my own ported lead profiles (very close to nolly 5150 lead)
I still love the old YJM profile by Tony McKenzie. I applied one of my 1960 cabs to it and tweaked it a little. Lovely.
The Diezel Herbert from TAF has a great, great, great lead profile. makes you wanna go wilder on your guitar than you should.
Besides I really love the lead booster in the stomp section of the KPA. Take a profile you already like a lot and add the lead booster. Very useful toy.
try also Poulin Legion Solo by Jefonyx.. but switch on A slot and change it from compressor to Gate2:1, or Gate4:1 otherwise is very noisy.. I love this profile with this setting
ps: also try it for when delay OFF.. super also for rhythm
Give the THD Univalve JTM-Rigs (s. RE) a try with stacked Single-Coils (perfectly Fender N3) - imo a legendary combination ...
I really like playing with Ruppert's "Holdsworthy" profile when I'm just practicing and improvising by myself. Always loved that smooth, warm lead tone. I think it would be too dark in the mix to work in my recordings, though.
Also like the "6505 Solo" (or something similar) in TAF's 6505 pack.
Free: Soldano SLO 100 from the Kemper presets is great
Commercial: Plexi E, JVM-410, Bogner Goldfinger, Diezel VH-4, Boogie Roadster (all from Soundside.de ) and "Till's Chimera Pack ". For sure there are also good profiles from TAF and others.
My favourites of all: Diezel VH-4 and Bogner Goldfinger from Soundside.de
I tweaked FastRedPonyCar's Nitro 80v Sag-Profile while using a cab I took from Lasse Lammert's Chug-Chug-Profile + some reverb + some delay and I love it!
check out this one. Such a beauty. Gotta find out what profile that is, love the sound of it
Feel Free to Check out my #36 profile on Rig Exc for Slashian Lead Tone.
it was for Afd tone Session (not AFD100 ..check also AFD100 SCE #2 By TAF for a fair price!)
I use that same head for the 2 profiles (search '' #36 '' )
one was on this Nightrain demo
the other was used for a present video to my Wife's Bday
I am fortunate enough to have profiled the tone I wanted, it is the Boogie IIC+ I posted in September. I can tweak evrything I want, I always go back to this profile, which is a good sign for me
the one that i use most these days and (for me) translates best to different situations & mixes is the taf manrock 800 (free i think).
you can find a demo here: kemper fun
Just bought yesterday but already loving it: The SLO-100 Solo profile from TAF
