Glad you enjoy my rigs! Is there anything in particular you are looking for?

I would love a Def Leppard Hysteria/ Pour Some Sugar style tone if you could cook something up.
But that Lukather tone would work as well....

Hi,
I've never really listened to Def Leppard so that may not be my thing to do, but I'm definitely of Luke's tail with a rig I'm working on.
The amp in question is a profile I got when I was working with a pre-production KPA and the amp has no name.
Cheers,
Mats N
Enlightening as always, Mats. Now i understand that we do have the same background. maybe of the same age???
I had a similiar tone in the mid 90ies in my band. My guitar teacher had a rack the size of a refrigerator back then.
no kiddin'
go ahead, mats, your rigs are rare but precious
nice work mats!
Hi,
Brief update here.
Just finished with a Lukather style rig with some nice grease in it.
I also try to write/record a tune with my profiles before releasing them so I know they work in the proper context and the tune is under way. Rig should be up in a week or so.
Cheers,
Mats N

What do you mean by "grease", sonically speaking?
What do you mean by "grease", sonically speaking?
Grease is, in my circles, a term to indicate a smooth sound with quite a bit of delay and reverb.

Mats,
Close but more like this:
The first 30 seconds represent my dream clean tone.
Display MoreHi!
I just love the huge buttery clean sounds from the 80s when the studio cats like Landau, Huff and Lukather used refrigerator size rack.
I made a Kemper tutorial for that kind of sound and posted it on Youtube.

I think that tone should be easier to get than my tone.

Mats,
I am sure it is. I am not any good at figuring out how to get tones I hear so it is impossible to me.
DUDE! Thanks for the great profile and the informative video! YOU ROCK!
Oh...also thanks for the new word to my vocabulary as a producer. I will now use "Schmoo" as much as possible! Never heard that word used this side of the pond (USA).
Nice job all around!
Denicio
Vablows,
I've always heard it said that Mutt Lange used Rockmans on those Def Leppard songs you mentioned.
A session buddy told me they used it for both clean and distorted sounds (with no speaker, just direct).
Denico
Yes, you are right Denicio.
I just wish someone could profile one!
I actually had one for a brief while, but this was way before the Kemper.

Curious about where it comes from, and what it means
I had this same question earlier in the thread
I have no idea, but may be correct.

I want to know, too.

So if I'm getting it right the schmoo is for a guitar sound what a crooner is for singing?
Beats the hell out of me
