Hey dudes and dudettes, another Australian here...
Got an unpowered Toaster the other day, I had about 30 minutes with it before I had to go away for 3 weeks for work. Was very impressed with the minimal time I had, really looking forward to getting home and spending some more time with it. As luck would have it I've got a gig the very next day after I get back, so a bit of trial by fire coming up. I got a FCB1010 and Uno4Kemper with it which I'm yet to set up too...
I got the Kemper as I have a PRS HXDA 30w 212 combo, and as much as I really, really love the amp, it's just not versatile enough to use at a gig for the stuff we play. Great cleans and even better dirt, but not at the same time. It's amazingly responsive to the guitars volume, but you can't go from a clean tone which is loud enough, to a full-on gain tone without a large and unmanageable increase in volume. This is where the Kemper comes in for obvious reasons!
I've also have a Mark V which I run with a G-System and a Mini Amp Gizmo which I used for gigs, but the HXDA really opened my ears to what an amp should be. I was a long time Mesa player until the day I got the HXDA, the difference is crazy (for my tastes). The Kemper and FCB will simplify my gig setup too which I'm looking forward too. No more running 5 cables between the G-System and the Amp/Gizmo plus stuffing around with a mic! I did make a "multi core with labelled ends so it wasn't that bad... 2 x MIDI and wireless into the Kemper, then Kemper to monitor/stage box will be very easy in comparison.
I did do a quick profile in the limited time I had, and it was 90% the way there. I'm going to profile the crap out of the HXDA with a couple of different mics and also DI (I have some questions about that but will ask in a different thread) and I'll post some up in the Rig Exchange when I'm done. I notice there's already a HXDA profile or 2 in there, funnily enough from the guys I bought the amp from, maybe it's my amp! Looking forward to trying some Amp Factory and RI profiles, it's a whole new world!
Oh I'm running into an RCF ART322A (I have a couple of these for general use) so will be using the Kemper in full sim mode on stage. Sounded pretty good so will prob keep using these as I already have them.
Epic first post! Cheers, Justin
