Any suggestions for funky auto wah

Looking for suggestions for really funky auto wah type effect. I've tried wahs as touch, I've tried the hp and lp filter effects but can't quite find or dial in what I'm after. One of the bands I play with is a funk covers band and I'm looking for a really funky 70s auto filter. Just not sure how to get it. I guess I need to incorporate another effect or two with the touch wah but just not sure which. Never been the best at tweaking effects:)

Does anyone else play similar music and have any ideas to share?

Yes, thanks for the reply. I have tried all the obvious presets etc but just not found the exact sound I want. It's not an issue I know it's in there I just need more time tweaking. Just tweaking time is something I am often short of so I thought it worth asking on the forum.

It's not easy or even not currently possible to get a good auto wah fx.
I tried but without much sucess, if someone did it, please share with us.

Have you guys tried the autowah presets available in the unit, or tweaked from there? I got some interesting sounds just yesterday night.

Try the Wah Wah in touch mode, with something like this:

Manual: between 1.5-2.0
Peak: around 7
Pedal range: 60-70%
Mix: 100%
Touch attack and release: around 1
Touch Boost: tune it to the level of your guitar if necessary.

These settings were for a single coiled guitar.

Added a little recording of these settings. Just a mic in the room, but you get the idea...

I'm surprised to hear that.
I think it's quite easy to set up a touch or volume envelope controlled wah/filter effect.
Ther are even parameters that let you adjust the attack and release of the generated envelope
and the boost parameter that makes it easy to achive the desired effect with your pickups/picking strength.

to get extra funky single note lines, add a analog octaver

Ok, I've done some tweaking and I take back what I said, but I miss a rate parameter to set the tempo and I still think that the whole process it's not very intuitive.

You need a "tempo"-autowah? Usually the term refers to a wah which is triggered and modulated by the signal amplitude.

I think there's a bit of confusion between a auto (volume envelope controlled) wah and a LFO controlled wah.

It depends, I think there are various kinds of auto wah/ filter, then. I was used to the Boss Gt8 auto wah fx

If I play long chords, then I want the filter to change (up and down) in a certain tempo/ speed, just like the ost of those funky 70's movies

I could be wrong, but I've always contributed this sound to those studio cats playing their funky guitars and rocking the pedal at the same time.

Me too... But it seems the GT8 has got an LFO-wah effect as well

Yes, an LFO trigger would be awesome, as I'm personally not very good at chugga- chugga wah pedal rocking while playing funky style at the same time.
Need to practice this.

Correct - '70s Movie (Shaft, etc) Wah was done by foot, not with an LFO or with Touch response. It is like a lot of other style-specific guitar techniques - if you want to be able to do it for the style you want to play, it isn't so hard to do. To make it easier, you can start sitting down (chances are, those guys were sitting down when they played those parts!)

how do you setup touch mode? And with the wah-wah effect I don't see touch attack and release or touch boost.

In one of the Wah's edit pages there should be a soft knob for "Pedal Mode". You'll find the touch option there, and it'll open up a new edit page with touch options
