if I want to search the forum I get a code I have to enter. Make it easy. If I search Marshall or Fender, I want all results with that.

Could you make an example? I just type the string I'm interested in and press Enter...
-
Just tried and did not have to enter code. Logged out and tried again and then I had to enter a code. Is that it?
-
I don't get code requests either.
-
I don't have this either. Which browser are you using?
-
I don't get code requests... but I usually don't get what I've searched for either. I agree it could use some improvement.

As I wrote: Log out and try a search. If I do that I have to submit some code. I checked with IE and Firefox. If I'm logged in I can just search without hassle.
It's probably to keep out spam. -
It's probably a simple measure to reduce load on the mySQL database. Just to prevent robots to excessively use the search engine.
Sadly, this makes it a bit less comfortable for guest users. Would be great to have a 3rd party search engine running (like elasticsearch) but I won't hold my breath for this to happen here. -
My only issue with Search is that Google does a better job finding search criteria.

Quite true - I usually go directly to Google to get my Kemper Forum search results. Time to step it up guys!! -
This site needs to be totally rebuilt, with mobile browser support.
I'm guessing it isn't a high priority though.

Not as high as hardware products, software support for them, or Rig Manager? Good!
