On vacation a few weeks ago, found this little jewel... a 1965 Vox AC30 head, clean and mean and fairly pristine. Sounds great for low to mid gain tones. I just don't see really old Voxes in my area often, so it had to be purchased. Just my opinion, but I think old amps sound better than newer reissues if they are in good working condition. Just my opinion. This amp gets loud in a hurry and old Voxes aren't super reliable - they eat EL84 tubes left and right, overheat easily, etc. I love that I can crank one up, get some profiles and then we can enjoy those profiles on our Kemper without worrying about tube or amp meltdown. Gotta love technology.
Here's what it sounds like...all the guitars are profiles from the amp. Bass is one of my sansamp pack, drums are midi and Slate Drums.
Here's where to get it.
