Both guitar players using Kemper racks with Marshall 4x12s. I think I could see the remotes as well. Not a fan of the band/music but still cool to see our beloved KPA out there in the wild. It's really catching on.
Kemper sighting on Steven Colbert - Baby Metal

BabyMetal rocks, man. Been onto them for like 9 years or something, but then, I'm all over Asian pop - K-Pop, J-Pop & J-Pop Idol rock, metal, funk, disco and of course EDM, C-Pop, V-Pop, T-Pop... OK, how 'bout I just love Asain Pop? LOL
Thank you for the heads-up, Anthony! Great news, as it always is when an artist you know or respect jumps aboard the Kemper Power Train™.

Yeah the music and musicianship is actually pretty good. I think the concept is what I'm not a fan of. Seems really phoney to me, but hey to each his own!
-
Oh, I agree. The concept is bizarre, really... at first.
However, just like LadyBaby, which involves an Aussie pro wrestler (known in Japanese Pop as LadyBeard), who dresses up in Japanese-girl outfits and roars choruses in answer to two teen girls' verses, or whatever, it's surprising how quickly one can get used to it. 3 fun examples:
LADYBABY「ニッポン饅頭 / Nippon Manju」Music Clip - YouTube
LADYBABY「蓮華チャンス!/Renge Chance !」Music Clip - YouTube
LADYBABY「セシボン・キブン/C'est si bon Kibun」Music Clip - YouTubeThe girls in BabyMetal hadn't even heard of the genre, let alone actually heard HM music, when they started out some 9 years or so ago in the project. That was an intentional part of the experiment, one aimed at maximising the possibilities for out-of-the-square creativity. I admire the fact that all 3 have stuck with it, and also that, as one would expect, their performances have improved commensurately with experience. Their latest clip, for any who might be interested. No shredding in this one unfortunately, which I always enjoy when it features in their songs:

Whoa, I hate it, no I like it, nah I really hate it, ehhh I guess I like it
cool to see the Kemper rocking Colbert!
-
Well spotted ! yeah Babymetal are great, brilliant concept and some v.catchy songs.
-
hell yeah, the mixture of super hi gain guitar and Jpop vocals is disturbing , but strangely ... it works somewhat & they have their public

I saw it yesterday, the Kemper's really stood out(and they sounded great).I really like Japanese music.Jinn, aqua timez,Pillows,AKFS,Cinema staff, Dir en Grey, Do as Infinity,Mono,Mucc,Tokyo Jihen,Maxium the Hormone etc etc (these are just out of the top of my head).
While i understand very little of the language, the musicianship really get's me.
They simply give a unique flavour and twist to known music genres(that Japanese craziness i guess).
As for baby metal, while the song is catchy im not very fond the group...it lacks honesty(it that makes any sense). It gives me a vibe of a label created band(there's a lot of that in Japan). It's cool Jrock bands get exposure like this, still i preferred the reason behind it to be diferent (it's more for shock value than to show the talent of the band).
