My band shares the rehearsal room with others. What about having an optional code/password after startup?
Password after startup

This has been requested before, elemefjot. No definitive consensus on it yet AFAIK.
The jury's still out on this one for me personally, 'cause I fear the scenario where one-too-many beers might've been drunk and the password's forgotten.. during soundcheck or even at the start of a gig. Any number of life stresses could cause a temporary loss of memory of the password, which, logically-speaking, one would've intentionally tried not to make too-obvious.
That said, IIRC many, including myself, do see the utility in having this option. Just not sure whether or not to give it the ol' +1 "Like"...

Have you considered a locking rack cover?

I like this idea!

I would be OK with it if the need for a code/password can be disabled in theSystem Settings. I'd rather not have to do this hundred of times per year (between gigs and recording) everytime I turn my KPA on. And, especially not during an emergency reboot.

I would prefer a lockout, where you can set to lock out saving/ overwrite/ deleting, etc and then password to open all features. You could still power up and use the Kemper and make front knob EQ settings or effects, etc but you could not save anything. That way during a gig or kids, etc, your settings would not be overwritten. This feature would also work well if you let someone try your unit, or in a store for example.

Good thinking, drog.

@Monkey_Man: There is never too much beer. Seriously: Plugging in a USB stick used for backup of this Kemper could skip the protection code.
@paults: I have the toaster. And optional for sure! I may need it, you don't.
@drog: cool idea. Wouldn't, however, keep the odd guy from e.g. maxing to 600W output and blowing speakers. But useful for other situations.
Kemper engineers are so smart that probably they could easily give us "protection: off | on power-up | for store". I think 4-6 digits would suffice. Or you play a lick that the Kemper remembers
