I know it shouldn't, but it seems to me that some rigs, expecially high gain ones, sometimes sounds better if rig volume is high.
I mean, from rig volume=0 and master volume=-20dB to rig volume=8 and master volume=-12dB, it shouldn't change anything in the tone, isnt'it?
Nonetheless...
Do you find that rig volume alter rig tone?

Nonetheless...Decibels are a logarithmic scale, your examples are different values. 8dB+12dB = 13.5dB (I'm guessing there's a minus sign missing from in front of the 8dB).
I'm not too sure how decibels work with negative values but to add two figures together to get 20dB would be 17dB+17dB.

I was not very clear with my example. In order to try to maintain the same output volume level, I rise rig volume by x and lower master volume by same x. This way the final volume should stay the same and there should not be any difference in tone. I'm rising a knob volume and lowering the other by the same amount. In my mind I hear a difference in tone

I wish Kemper had a preset Fletcher-Munson curve EQ that one could apply for low or high volumes. Seems it would come in really handy!

If Kemper had a Mastervolume who hat acted just like a tubeamp it would have bin perfect! but i understand its nearly impossibel to recreate!! I have nearly got the sweetspot on my 64Deluxe profile! Can make a stratsound fat clear and trebbly at the same time!

I'm pretty sure the volume on the Kemper is just volume and in no way like master volume in real amps so as long as it's the same volume it really makes no difference, If you think you're getting different result, I'm going to presume that you're not getting the exact volume,
I'm sure you're right, also the kpa manual states that there should not be any difference in tone when adjusting rig volume.

Exactly. It can't be that hard to accomplish for Kemper.

Either by Kemper or by user. But the latter would afford to improve the output-section by saving different EQ-output-presets together with volume-settings under one output-preset.

It may just be a mental thing, but I have found recently I like to up rig volume until I see the output light on the kemper tickle a little. To me the tone sounds better more forward, the kemper has a ton of headroom.
