I am sorry if this is a stupid question. I did my first test profile yesterday using my fender super 112 red knob tube amp. When I was done, I noticed that the GAIN on the KPA was at zero. Question is... Was I supposed to set that gain at a certain level? What is the prefered spot to set the gain on the KPA when profiling? Does the KPA set it where it thinks it should be? Or do I do it? thank you for dealing with me, I am new, just got my Kemper 2 days ago.
Where do you set the GAIN on the kemper when profiling an amp?

the gain value is set automatically by the Profiler based on the data it collects during the profiling process.

@Jarrydee
as @hjscheffler already posted, the gain value is determined during Profiling.
The Profile that is active when you switch to PROFILER has no impact on the resulting Profile. Therefore the gain value set has no influence.
It is merely adviseable to start from a similar sounding Profile so you can check your setup/mic'ing against a proven tone. -
