Recording multiple tracks with different rigs

  • In the interests of consistency and time, I was wondering if there is a way to record say two tracks simultaneously with different rigs into ProTools at the same time.

For Example as a double rhythm track mimicking two guitarists, pro/live sound etc?

    Thanks, Nathaniel

  • Hi there - no, the Kemper does one rig at a time, but...

If you record your raw guitar to another track you can reamp that back through the Kemper to achieve the same thing. In fact you can take several copies and use a different rig for each.

Fender in the left, Marshall in the right and Vox in the middle, no problem. ?

    Fab thanks!

  • as Finally said you can reamp as many different tones as you want which will give layered tone. However, this will not sound the same sound as double tracking the parts. Double tracking gets much of its fullness from the subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) timing differences between performances. One way to get a little closer but still not exactly the same would be a to apply a delay of around 10 - 30ms to one or more tracks.
