my son has requested this combo, and id like to be able to assist him with the wiring and such. he has a kemper profiler poweramp with the 600w, and he now wants to pickup a mesa rectifier 4x12 cabinet rated at 240w at 8 ohms. im thinking that's how we should run from the kemper to the cabinet? if so the 600 watts from the amp will be pushing the 240 watt cabinet. is it safe to say just dont turn it up all the way so we dont kill the cab? we are trying to learn this together.

Plug it straight in, you'll be fine. Guarantee you will damage your eardrums well before you damage the speakers. Having said that, I'd suggest keep poweramp boost at zero.
For curiosity sake, there is a wattage power meter in the output menu, have a look at that while you're playing and you'll realise how little power it takes to play loud.

it is also worth noting that the power output shown on the Wattage Meter is calibrated at 4 ohms. In order to know what it is putting out at 8 ohms half the number shown.
