Rig Manager Can't Find Profiler

  • I have it connected directly from the printer looking port USB to my mac laptop

I have the latest rig manager installed

I've tested the USB port on the laptop and it finds a USB stick just fine

I've tested 2 different USB cables

I've restarted the mac and Kemper

I've tried with the chicken head in browser and performance mode

    Any other ideas?

Hi, my name is Peter Dunbar a singer, songwriter and musician from the Green Mountain state of Vermont. I will be doing videos of all kinds such as experiences, live and (HD) recorded covers and originals. My (HD) stuff will most likely feature the VoiceLive 3 Extreme.. I may also throw in a gear review now and again. Thanks for stopping by and thanks in advance for hitting the subscribe button!

  • You say you have the latest RM. Do you also have the matching Kemper OS? They have to be in sync. There's a new RM from today described as "Improved: USB communication with PROFILER Stage".

BTW, better to say what specific version#'s for both RM and OS you have, rather than saying latest.

  • Can you direct me to where I can find that latest version?

I am currently using Kemper OS
    9.0.5.45603

    Mac Rig Manager
    3.4.32

  • Which OS? The released 9.0.8 or the new Beta 10.0?

I'm on Windows so I don't know if they're exactly the same on the Mac version.

For reference I have the latest Betas - 10.0.0.46731b and RM 3.4.43. As I mentioned, this latest Beat is described as having improved USB connection.

If still no luck, whey not open a support ticket? (Kemper Profiler Forum/Private Forum you should see Contact Kemper Support Team

Maybe something to do with MAC OS version, etc.

  • I did 9.0.8

I have both.. on Windows, rig manager won't even open... at ALL.. freezes etc. I've worked with support for a couple weeks and tried everything. They've now ghosted me.

So I am trying my macbook and now have hit this brick road.

    Yea I haven't tried the 10 beta

  • Upgrading to beta 10 requires:

    Rig Manager 3.4.38 for Windows® / macOS® and 1.4.0 for iOS® required!

I don't even see where to install this latest rig manager.

  • Wait a sec. You enabled beta versions in RM, and you were prompted to update to 10.0?

If that’s true - RM sees the Profiler. It has to or else you wouldn’t be asked to update the Profiler.

  • No, I manually did the profiler with a USB stick

I get a yellow message that there is a connection issue in rig manager (can't find any profilers)

  • OK - Open Rig Manager.

In the upper left, click RIg Manager, then Preferences. Is the box for Include Beta Test Versions check? If not - tick that, close Preferences and go back to the Rig Manager menu. This time click Check for Software Updates.

It should ask you to upgrade RM.

  • Yup, did that. I have the latest beta of rig manager... AND the latest 10 beta OS.

    Still not finding the kemper

  • I am running into the same problem.

I am using macOS 13.4.1 and RigManager 3.4.43.

Kemper and Mac are connected via a USB hub.

When I unplug and plug the USB-B side of the Kemper, I can connect from RigManager.

The output result of the system_profiler SPUSBDataType command before and after unplugging and plugging the USB device is that the "Location ID:" in the Profiler has changed.

    Before unplugging, Location ID: 0x08332100 / 17

After plugging in, Location ID: 0x08332100 / 18

Hopefully this will be resolved in the next version.

  • Yup, did that. I have the latest beta of rig manager... AND the latest 10 beta OS.

If you have the same issue on both Mac and Windows then you probably should be looking at your connections.

You mentioned trying 2 cables. But if it's through a hub, try bypassing the hub. If you're trying through a USB-C with an adapter of some sort, try a USB-B port. Beyond that, support is still the answer. Maybe something is defective in the Kemper USB port.

  • It's happening to a few of us. Latest Os and latest RM, tested every possible combination of cables and ports, still no luck. I'm sure it'll get sorted in the next iterations. Kemper Stage here.
