Kemper Player as FX device

It should work fine but the player is an extremely limited choice for FX only. There are much better FX options available for the same price or less. The main selling point of the Player is the Amp and Cab sections.

I guess we can plug the send from the amp to the Player input, and the player output to the return. It should work, but I'm concerned with the signal level.

Yes you can use it in the effect loop. I would recommend to turn off the stack (amp + cabinet) in the stage.
