Bravo! Now maybe the Kemper will shed it's mythological 'beta' status!

Heres a dumb question. What exactly is the Performance mode? DO you take various profiles for example a clean, overdrive, effects, bass and store it all in one 'group' to call up on a song by song basis?

It makes the Kemper function similarly to traditional guitar multi-fx boxes like Line6HD500 or Boss GT10 etc. Groups of 5 profiles make up a "bank" and while in that bank of profiles you can freely switch between the 5 sounds. You could use this method to store your primary 5 sounds or like you mentioned; each bank of profiles could be for a different song. Choice is yours.

Played around a bit with performance mode tonight. Like the concept a lot. At first I didn't realize in each slot you can select different effects settings and not just the ones programmed to the rig in browser mode. Once that light bulb went off I could see a lot of potential in this feature.
Nice being able to integrate this feature with normal midi change commands or using up down buttons.

Can anyone here monitor the MIDI communication with the LF? I'd be interested in the midi controller handshake

Messed around with performance mode last nite and it seems like a great feature. When this feature was being talked about before it came available i couldnt really get my head around it. But now its here it seems great.
What i find with the KPA is i just get distracted all the time. You play away and mess around with a feature then when you look at the clock you realise that 1 hour has pasted and you havent really concentrated on that new feature you have been playing and stumbeling on features that you didnt know it had or how good a certain feature it has is
I LOVE THE KPA

Awesome new feature. I'll write it up in a separate thread since lightbox has his panties in a wad over the editor thread...

Performance mode is truly great.
The possibility to play a rig with different FX settings is priceless and very well done!
In one of the next updates we will be able to use a simple stereo footswitch like the Boss FS6 to scroll through the rigs like with rig up/down in browse mode.
This will be even more awesome as it will minimize the controller footprint on very small stages. -

Hm...I don't get the point. The possibility was there before. A different FX setting needs a second slot in perfomance mode (PM) as it was needing a different Midi-PC without PM. Or am I wrong? Where's the advantage in PM? -

Plus the allocation is much easier in performance mode.
I will use it song based. -

Ah, I see, thanks. So in PM you can use ONE rig with different FX settings, but in Browse Mode it is still only one rig, right? -
That seems to be it guitarmaniac, unless i am missing something?
-
Yes, exactly!

Off topic: Guitarmaniac is my nick at the german Line6-Forum. Do we know us from there? -
No ,only here.just got the name wrong!

Ah, I see, thanks. So in PM you can use ONE rig with different FX settings, but in Browse Mode it is still only one rig, right? As to reduntant rigs....aren't one just copying rigs from the Browser over to the PM's memory location? It's not like rigs in PM will disappear if you delete the original rig from the browse pool, or?

Yes its copied over, then you can copy that same rig into the other slots and modify each slotted rig. Copy & paste works for this.
