Hi,
If you see a browse display you can use the rigs buttons. Left/right 1 rig per press and up/down 10 rigs per step. Not optimal but sometimes helpful.

Hi,
I really do appreciate the user profiles. There are uniformly of a suprisingly high quality and there are a few gems that are simply outstanding. I thank everyone who has posted a profile.

Display MoreI'm loving this Profile, it's just so sweet to play.
Little clip, first without the Treble Boost engaged, and then Treble Boost on.
All part of the original brilliant Profile...using humbuckers here.

EDIT: If there was a Profile rating system, this Red Channel 101B would hit my #1 spot instantly, with a Les Paul, it's glorious!
Hi Lance,
Great clip. Made me want to stop doing whatever and go play my KPA.
Thanks for posting. Will try your settings as well.

Hi Erik,
I haven't yet tried them but if they are as good as your other profiles then I know I'm in for a treat.

The time machine strat's neck pickup is really amazing.
I have tried a lot of CS Strat and it is the best I have heard.
Does that start have a rosewood or maple fingerboard?
Do you know what the pickups in your CS strat are called?

Display MoreHi Mats,
I guess you refer to the sample I have done.
No preamp, no plugin.
Guitar -> KPA -> Soundcard -> Logic.
Just a Compressor and a Pure Boost in the KPA stomps slots.
The guitar is a Fender 65 Time machine custom shop strat, which sounds and feel really good.
I can honestly not tell the difference between my amp and the KPA tone except obviously the Fender 'air pressure' .
What kind of guitar did you use ?
I am pretty sure you would have experienced the same if you had plugged it directly in the amp with my settings.
Cheers
Hi GAE,
Yes it was your profile and on your soundclip it sounded like 1 million bucks. Just the tone I've been longing for since I don't know when.
I used a Tyler SE HD and while it's a wonderful take on the Strat it is not a vintage strat by any means. I will try you profile with other strats and see what happens. I have one guitar that sort of matches yours. Will be interesting!
I did get the profile to sound really good but different.
Did you use the comp and boost when you recorded your clip?
Cheers,
Mats N
Hi Toneclone,
Welcome to the gang and thanks for the profiles. Will try them this weekend.
According to the picture it seems like the KPA owners use "whatever" as a michrophone stand. There was one user who used a paper towel roll and and now this. Soon there will be tone cork sniffers who will tell you they can tell the difference in a profile made with a product box from Boss vs. one from PreSonus.

Hi,
To some degree I also experience this. I heard a clip with a Super Reverb 65 RI that sounded absolutely wonderful. But when I play it sounds different.
Like Guitarnet70 said it very much depends on the guitar construction (wood, pickups, electronics, etc), guitar chord and playing style but tone can also differ due to preamp used when recording, software used when recording and plugins used (if any) when recording/mixing/mastering.
Cheers,
Mats N
No I meant to say the only options are "slow" and "fast"... there's no variable in speed. This is correct?

Just like a real Leslie cabinet.

As soon as you upload a rig, you can edit it. You even can to that afterwars. If your browser stores the values for the different fields, editing is quite comfortable.
OK now I get it. Thanks!
Smart move to make people post their profiles.

and there's an online editor! Made my day
I can't find this editor. Can you please describe where to go?
Cheers,

Hi,
I also have this problem.
Has anybody done the support ticket thing about htis yet?

Hi Erik,
Finally had time yesterday to try your profiles and I was imediately trown from "test mode" into "play mode" due to these very solid sounding profiles.
They are on my list of favorites.
Thanks for posting them!

Do I just need to go into the X3 and tell it which cc commands are assigned to each IA?
As a default, the delay IA on the X3 turns off the reverb on the KPA!
Yes, that's exactly it. The fact that the delay switch turns off the reverb tells us that the X3 sends MIDI CCs like you want.
Unfortunately I have never looked into the X3 in such detail so I can't help you but you can probably find this info in the manual for the X3.
Good luck!

Bill and Heater!
Let me be the first Swede to say hello and welcome. We were having fun before and will probably have more fun when you guys start using.

Display MoreQuestion: What does the "E" mean in the upper right corner next to the date and name of the profile generator?
Any ideas?
Greetings

Hi,
It simply means that the rig has been edited since last saved.

Display MoreYes, but I hate to use external editors - the KPA is very easy to use directly.
So an editor would be nice for naming etc. but for daily use would it be much better to add additional searching options in the browse menu - according to the tags:
e.g.
order by amp name
order by mic name
order by speaker type (1x12, 2x12, 4x12 ...)
order by speaker name
simply by ALL available tag fields - not only date, name, user as it is now.
Yes, I would rather not use an external editor but wouldn't mind for house keeping. More sort orders is also a good idea.

Elfredo,
I will not say goodbye but rather "Auf wiedersehen".

Hi Armin,
I'm also at 100+ profiles and have a problem with naming. It would be so much easier if there was a librarian program that allowed easy tagging. That way we could use the Rig name for being a bit more clear. I.e. the amp and cab name tags would be shown in the librarian and be searchable.
Cheers,
Mats N
Yes, amp comp is great but I still would like to have full functionality with the stomp comp for the occasions where the obvious comp sound is wanted.
