no pb Dave, that's what demo rigs are useful for, testing with your own gear, if you get instant fab results , then go for it ! I insist on the guitar matching because I strongly believe the best alchemy is done with a guitar suited to a certain context, the JEM is an overkill guitar to play ACDC to me !

Hello Frank, they were build using some classic PAF or duncans SH5 on classic luthery as well, monitoring is done on Yamaha HS7 or HS80. Big difference from the JEM , for sure ! I'm more surprised by the Les Paul test, what pickups do you have on this one ?

Best hint I can give is to setup the gain first , up or down to the one you want to get , Then adjust the definition to a point it's bright enough. If it's still lacking clarity, then add ... clarity , but bit by bit.

My profiles are somewhat dark, and the old ones from the rig ex. were done with older firmware & profiling methods,I have much better results with the new ones. You should try the ones I put on the rig exchange ( ATM.JB.drive.chordal) from my hollow body pack, they have a more bright side on 'em.

You should like the 'lead chordal' as well, but it has much more gain and compression, like the ones from my friend Djemass. Hi gain is NOT ACDC , like the guy told us in the vid above , or just by lookin at ACDC profiles by ACY ( just check the level of gain in the pic from the rig manager in ACY's vid above)

    let me know !

Agree with all the above , JTM45 by top Jimi is one of my fav. I'm with Paul about getting the right intentions in you playing as the most critical factor ( like 3 stings chords with as a many open strings possible, and Angus specific vibrato and bends ).

My reference tones are the ones from the ballbreaker album

I've also got a couple of free Angus rigs on rig EX check for : Marshall jtm30 Angus

my hollowbody pack as also a specific Malcolm rig but it's tailored for semi hollows (check the intro chords for Malcolm clips).

good luck in your tone quest !

Hello , here is another set starring 'Mr Honky LesPaul' on the leads and the Gongalizer , plus some great JCM800 style low drive settings on open chords.

Raw mix , no post EQ

    enjoy & have a nice week-end

    Renaud.

    Hello !

My hollobody pack being finished & online, I'm moving on to my next profiling project.

This time, I'm going to explore a bit more the marshall world, my starting point is a very cool tube preamp / boutique pedal, called the 800 X2 , handbuilt by a french tube amp specialist ( Fred Amp)

I've been profiling the little beast with a 1st batch of profiles, a dozen, and the results are promising.

My objective is to gather the most beautiful tones I wil get out of this great preamp, JCM800 tones, my all time favorite marshall, but also the bluesbreakers and JTM ones, up the JCM900.

I already came across a few tone worth appearing in a new commercial pack, so I'l eventually publish a great rich collection for all kinds of pickups in single pack once I can squeeze every tone I wanted from this tube box.

New profiles with specific pickups ( SC, HB, and P90 on hollow) will probably end up in their respective ATM packs as a free add on/update.

the 1st profiles I could get from 'Jessie M', as I will call the 800X2 pedal are mostly crunch ones.

There is one particular profile 'honky Les Paul' that I already love for it's great tonal characteristics, full of mids , body and honk. It will turn any HB or P90 guitar into a singing Les Paul vibe, fantastic for lead work.

Another one is the 'Gongalizer' , an harmonized rig I came across while tweaking with a very deep and huge organ like tone . I named it after David Allen's GONG band , and the specific chorused tone David Allen was using. I love it badly since it's highly inspirational for writing songs. This is the first one in the clips below.

Any way , have a listen to my first tracks recorded on this one ( all recorded on my P90 hollow guitar : Ibanez Artist)

Thx for testing, there lots or room for improvements, and the TAP button allows some kind of sync with the desired rate / period.

Ill be testing further on my side, but I'm open for suggestions, too bad I don't got any of the actual gear.

    R

I agree with the JCM800 from Marshall pack TAF, but do not forget Djemass ones ( MarkIIC+).

IMHO lead tone are the most easiest tones to dial on a KPA, it's often more difficult to find a warm, chimey and transparent slight crunch or clean for humbuckers pickups for instance.

the Compression parameter in the AMPLIFIER section also helps to even out the volume differences between a distorted rig and the same rig but with the guitar's volume rolled back.

Don , will the new morph feature allow to compensate for volume gain while upping the gain ?

I wish could use only one rig for rhythm ( gain 3 definition 6 vol 6 ) to lead (gain 6 definition 4 vol 4 ) with the morph ???

The rate is "somewhat" adjustable with the tap button, and the trem rate.

    hi !

I just uploaded my latest emulation of the rotovibe FX, I 'm often close to buying a déjà vibe or a similar external good univibe clone, but listening to samples and reviews everywhere led me to some new trials.

My 1st trails where good but there was a missing asymmetrical component, a kind of warble . I fooled the ring mod with a trem stomp in front and that added a lot.

it might be worth trying the same hack with a vibrato, phaser vib, rotary ...

let me know your thoughts, I don't got any ref. pedal ATM.

available on rig ex : ATM.JB.vibe
