It's something us non-studio guys don't understand. For a perfect solo, you need to chop, match, comp, mix and then present it as a single piece. It's good to learn the tricks of the trade

I think you have to hold down system and turn on the Kemper. EIther that or hold down the < key and turn on the Kemper. Check the WiKPA for the definitive procedure.

Ooops, apologies

There are crossgrades available. Basically, if you have a software, you can switch to another DAW for about half price. For example, Magix has their software going at $249 for a crossgrade up to December 31, that's about half price. Am sure other manufacturers will get in on the act.
Cubase 7.5 should be good, I have 6.5 and it has more than enough tools for me. The new one is probably improved, but you have to be a serious producer to get all the functionality out of it. Should be worth it and would last you for more than a few years.

I just bought a crapload of commercial profiles, so those will be in the mix as well.
This is a great idea, but I think it would be best if this survey is limited to free profiles. Reason being everyone can try them out and come to an objective result. With paid-for profiles, there's always the chance that the comparison wouldn't be fair vis-a-vis a free profile.
That said, Tillman's dual amp profiles in his Chimaira pack should be in the list of best metal profiles. But what would you file it under? "

Haha, nice, I like how maurizio70 said, "Ciao Allesandro"

One word: monitors. At home, there's nothing better than listening to a Kemper through a flat pair of speakers. It's a relatively cheap solution too. Unless of course, you can afford an Atomic CLR

Sounds like a sweet setup! Good for you!

I think that's more because of a bug that caused crackling than any actual changes to how it would behave or sound, although it would be nice if the pick transient algo could behave a little more naturally and less mechanically even in sound and duration, I always disable the pick setting because of this. Some disconnect in our ideas, guys! I was thinking features like the pitch harmonizer and thing we got a while ago.
Pick attack is more like a bug fix. I want more FX, more controls, more of everything

agreed. at last a place where we could discuss what REALLY matters. the coming world championships in brazil for instance.
I love football! Unfortunately, in recent years, I've come to the conclusion that most sporting events are rigged. Just too much money to have Beckham and his team lose, for example. There has even been proof in the form of match fixing and fixers' names coming out, but it's brushed under the carpet. News just doesn't stay current, even if it's the most important thing to the readers. Instead, they'll focus on something idiotic instead.
I like the idea of the coffee shop/whatever being a private forum. Users only! We're a friendly bunch, wot wot?

Not that funny, I guess Could it be firmware corruption? Have you tried a factory reset?
lef38: You locked the reverb after lowering but it came on the next rig? That is a bug? WIll try to replicate it at home today and post back.

Try the demos. Most DAWs have them and they're uncrippled for the most part.
1) Cubase
2) Sonar
3) Reaper
4) Samplitude
5) AudacityNever know which workflow suits you best.

Yeah it's a bit out there as theories go.
But it's still in the realm of possibility. I can't really think of anything else that would produce an audible spike by just touching the strings with a pick.
It's a good theory. Maybe it has something to do with something not being earthed properly in the Kemper? Or the guitar? But then again, wouldn't that be a constant? Or are you muting the strings after touching with a pick, thereby grounding the signal?

Are you sure it's not recalling the settings you dialled in? Could just be you imagining things
