This might be a silly question but, why are there two lights above the delay button and why is it dim on some profiles but bright on others.

I'm currently saving for a power amp and I've decided to go for the Matrix GT1000FX. It's solidstate but has been made to sound and feel like a tube amp.
Matrix have a selection of power amps at different prices but it depends what figure you have in mind.
I decided to save that bit more so hopefully I won't have to sell up and save again in the future.
I doubt I'll be the first to say this but if you're spending big bucks on a Kemper and an expensive cab, it's probably worth buying a decent power amp so that doesn't let your sound down.
That or you may hit gold and find a cheap power amp that works and sounds great.
Rocktron do the Velocity 300 which is Solidstate and to my ears sounds that way. I've heard they weigh a tonne and can be unreliable as well though. Apart from that they are well priced
Thomann have a really cheap Harley Benton Power amp but I have no idea what that's like. I asked for opinions on this power amp but I don't think anyone owns one.
Just a few ideas

Yeah it's a really shallow case. It covers the Kemper with a tiny bit of over hang.

The above is the one I use. Perfect fit and it's really compact without the front and back panels on. Not much bigger than the Kemper itself.Easy access to the front and back as it's a shallow case.
Storage for leads etc in the front and back panels and it's 4u so you have a space left for a power amp, tuner or whatever you choose.

lasse lammert, Sinmix, Deadlight studios.
I'm using the Sinmix Engl Savage profile at the moment. Really good all round high gain profile and the cab mixes really well with other high gain profiles as well.

Thanks for your reply.
How does it sound with the Kemper?
Does it colour the sound much?
-
Has anyone tried the two together?
If so, Is it loud enough run in stereo at gigs and does it sound any good?
I'm saving for a Matrix GT1000 FX at the moment but thought the Peavey could be an option

Ah yeah, my bad, I miss read.
I was looking at a back up in the form of a pre amp to run through a separate power amp.
I was loving the idea and then realised how much money I'd need ha ha.

I use the behringer fcb1010 with the Uno for Kemper chip.
It's cheap and does the job well.
I've noticed some big bands using them as well. they're built well, They're cheap and they do the job.
You can switch channels, effects and it has two expression pedals.
I'd like the Kemper footswitch but I can't afford to spend that sort of money on a footswitch.

Being able to create new folders on your Kemper would be a really useful function.
Thanks for the help guys.

Is there a way I can create another file in my Kemper to put live rigs etc?
Does the new file you create in Rig Manager appear on the Kemper as well?
-
Can you create a new folder through rig manager on computer/laptop or through the Kemper?
How do you create new folders?

Thanks for your help.
So the best profile to use with a power amp and real cab would be a pre amp profile (D.I)?
But then if I'm going the power amp and real cab route but cab sim on going to front of house then direct out profile would be best? (so the profile works with or without a cab sim/cab profile)
The clearest way to make your own studio profile would be to use a merged profile or a direct out profile and change the cab. Clearest cab being from another Merged profile or a cab pack/Sim.
When I've swapped cabs and pressed the merge button I've found they don't sound as good as before I've pressed the merge button. Is it a normal thing to do selecting a merge profile, changing the cab but not engaging the merge button.
Also is a cab sim the same as a cab profile? But IR not profiled as part of a rig?
Sorry for all the questions.

What is direct out? (Direct out profile)
Is that the same as D.I, So just the pre amp and power amp have been profiled but not the cab?
Can a direct out profile be mixed with a cab in the kemper cab menu?
Looking at buying the sinmix direct out pack to use through a poweramp and standard cab and also through a cab sim to front of house.
Please can someone explain merged profiles as well. I kind of get the rough idea but not fully.

I've only just noticed the replies on this post.
How did you get on with the Rumble profile?
-
Does anyone know if the Engl Z12 footswitch would work/works with the Kemper?
I would like a real feeling footswitch rather than a plastic one, that I can add 5 profiles bottom row and 5 effects top row so I'm hoping this will work as it has the right lay out.

Or you could buy a non power amp Kemper and see how you get on, If you decide to go the power amp route at a later date then you could buy a separate power amp and fit it above or below your Kemper in a rack/case.,
Or if it's the toaster shape you could add the camplifier.

I've just gone and turned my Kemper on again and all the cabs are there this time!
Must have updated on start up.
Thanks for your help guys.
Do you press tag to save a cab to presets? Can I delete my cabs in presets without fully deleting the cab and start saving new ones?
