It also has a battery so you are fine without phantom.

i still can’t get used to calling it IIII instead of IV
-
thanks for explaining Burkhard. I still miss them though ?

I don’t think you need to worry about that. You usually tell when someone is genuinely trying to figure things out by their language in posts.

DeanJam i understand what you are saying and I know I felt similarly overwhelmed at first. Several people on this forum were especially helpful in the early day particularly Monkey_Man , paults Eltzejupp Ingolf and the guys from Kemper themselves. The way I look at is that I am always happy to try and help people who are trying to help themselves. However, I also think there is a subgroup of users in all forms of technology who tale pride in not reading the manual as if it makes them superior. Then complain when they can’t do something simple and blame the gear for their inadequacies. When they come around looking for help it’s often a little more difficult to be nice. ?
-
that graph look much closer to a linear pot used in expression pedals than a log pot used in volume pedals. The Kemper takes the linear input from the exp and applies a conversion to it to make it produce a log curve (most people prefer this) when set as a volume pedal. You might be able to get a more linear curve by using Morph to control a boost pedal in front f the amp or the amp gain value rather than setting it as a volume pedal. I haven’t tried this personally as the last thing I want from a volume pedal is a linear taper but its worth experimenting yourself.

Sorry, I think Navar’s post answers the signal chain question. I was just trying to point out that if you want to do this in order to use plugin in the signal path you need to be cared which plugins you use. I expect the 1073 plugin will work fine and probably the Studer too but the 1176 might not profile well at all. The manual spec issues not to use compressors when profiling
-
Try it without the compressor. I suspect that is screwing with the profiling process.

Burkhard one of the things I REALLY think is missing from RM is the ability handle effects group presets rather than just individual effects presets. This can be done on the Classic Kempers themselves but presumably not the Stage.
Is there any physical reason why this couldn’t be added to a Rig Manager or is it purely something that wasn’t implemented because it doesn’t map directly to the Stage?

There was a bug in one of the recent updates that accidentally changed the function of the tap switch. It was fixed in the next update but you need to manually put it back to normal this time round

It can seem a little confusing at fury but once you get your head round the Kemper logic it is an extremely flexible setup.
You can assign single or multiple effects to a single foot switch. If you have an effect assigned that you don’t want just go through the hold and push process again for that effect again it will be deselected. -
Just in case there is ANY doubt about this. DO NOT CONNECT THE SPEAKER OUT (the red one) from the powered Kemper to the interface. The interface input is not designed to handle this signal level and will probably incur serious damage.
-
I'nm not sure if it will do what you need but let me know how you get on.

Could you achieve what you’re looking for by nudging the panorama control in favour of the quieter side?

can Kone be used safely with a Bass Guitar &/or a BassVI?
yes it can safely be used but the small cabinet isn’t designed for bass so you won’t get it to sound like a bass amp.
QuoteI thought you advise NOT to mic Kabinet/Kone?!
he do say that. I think the point of the quest the was asking was to help troubleshoot and find possible causes of any problem the previous poster was experiencing rather than to suggest the kone is suitable for micing
-
2 things could have caused it
the first and most likely is a user brain fart. Happens to me all the time by the way ?
the second is a glitch when running a software update.Either way it’s all good now and you learned something new about the Kemper in the process ?
-
do you have an amplifier driving the “passive pa speaker”? If not, you won’t get any sound. The interface doesn’t include an amplifier to drive speakers. You either need a power amp or a powered speaker.
-
it is usually the dimmer switch that causes the problem rather than the light bulbs themselves. Try changing over to a regular on/off switch.
-
This can for example happen, if a bass amplifier with a cabinet, which is designed like a PA cabinet, gets profiled. In such cases the cabinet profile is irrelevant anyhow.
surely, in this situation the character of the mic would still be important to some people?
