I think there should be a clearer difference frequency-wise between treble and presence. You cant really control much, because they do very similar things with the frequency response (post amp).
Treble should touch 2,5-5khz, presence 6k and above
Treble vs presence - more difference

I think it depends on the type of rig you are adjusting. For me the difference is very clear on heavily driven patches. The treble is definitely more aggressive, while the presence sits above those frequencies giving control of the air or dealing back the fizz.

There is definitely a difference between the treble and presence knobs.

his work is sooo good!! graphs like this belong in the the official manual ... actually of every device imo ...

I tried to like this twice but it doesn't work!

Of course there is a difference but its not very significant..
-
The difference is more marked on some high gain profiles for me. Sometimes the treble deals with the harsh element and presence sits above that.
-
IMO they're too similar - they should be able to interact more, if nothing else.
Looking at the two middle images on p20 of my PDF (thanks for the kind words, folks), I think that turning one to 5 and the other to -5 should have a similar but even stronger effect - cutting the "treble" frequencies while retaining or boosting the "presence" frequencies. Alternatively, if Treble was a slightly narrower bell and Presence was a shelf, they'd at least behave like the names suggest.
-
At least the treble and presence can be heard when used; many traditional amps have tone controls that barely change anything at all.
I can just hear the outcry from Kemper users with thousands of rigs after they change they characteristic of those two controls.

Great point.
