Going into and out of tuner mode at midi volume 0 causes very erratic and abrupt volume changes.
EDIT: the erratic/abrupt volume behavior going in/out of tuner mode only applies when in Performance Mode!

Actually, this problem only applies to Performance Mode. Browse mode is smooth.

Just out of curiosity: why would you want to disable the tuner... It doesn't do any harm, does it?

Nobody wants to disable the tuner. I just find it nerve racking to see the KPA switch to tuner mode whenever the volume pedal is at 0. I am pretty content when I can decide when to tune my guitar. Also nobody wants to delete this function, but to make it optional so that you can choose whether you like it or not. -
