Ah, that makes sense, good to know, thanks.

I am sure I am missing something but following the Kemper Profiler Input tutorial, I attempted to adjust my Clean Sense for my circa '71 Gibson Les Paul (boost the clean to match gain). This seems to work for when I stay in Browse mode but did not seem to work when I switched to Performance mode and tried out a few of the rigs a set up. Is this something I need to do separately in both Browse and Performance mode or am I missing something? Are there any other hints, tips, tricks folks can share to get balanced clean & gain and across rigs?

The funny thing is that every time I try to go in and do 'something' I wind up getting caught up just jamming out on certain profiles I really like. I made a list today and I think I might just delete everything else so I can stop playing around and really start tweaking things. Thanks for the advice though.

Yes, unless it is patched to boot 64bit.
I didn't catch this before my last post. How do you patch it to boot 64bit?
-
Very confusing. This page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT3770 says
QuoteThese Macs support the 64-bit kernel, but do not use it by default.
iMac (Early 2008) and later
MacBook Pro (Early 2008 through Mid 2010)My mac falls into the MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) category so it sounds like it can run it, but doesn't use it. At this rate, the operating systems are only $20 so assuming I upgrade to Snow Leopard successfully, the next step would be Lion and if Rig Manager doesn't work, I still have a more up-to-date OS on my computer. I think I will still give it a shot. Thanks!

OK, so if I can run 10.7 (sequential updgrade and I am taking my time), are you saying that Rig Manager won't run if I have a 32 bit kernal?
-
Rig manager doesn't support Snow Leopard (10.6.8)! Only 10.7 and up!
And only 10.7 if you are running 64bit!
OK, so according to this link at the apple store: http://store.apple.com/us/ques…ocessor/QC7UY229KUJDKA72U
I can update all the way to 10.8. But how to I know if I am running 64 bit???
-
Muddy, the first link is for the remote, not the toaster. The second link is helpful though, thanks!
-
So this is very interesting - not sure why I was under the impression that I couldn't patch beyond what I have but I just ordered Snow Leopard and will see what I can do. Thanks!!!!!

Serious question from newb: any issues with unscrewing the feet at the base of the toaster model and adding a spacer (rubber washer maybe) to increase the height/clearance of the unit??? Seems like a no brainer but checking to see if those screws are only for the feet or actually connect to something on the inside. I need a bit more clearance as the unit does not quite clear the handle of the Tech 21 Power Engine and rocks slightly.

Ok, thanks Timo. Sounds like manually deleting them after a back up, and archive is the safe way to go.
-
Ah, good tip, thanks!
-
I thought I saw a thread a while back about this but could not find it. I can't run Rig Manager on my computer, so I have to do everything manually - i.e. load new rigs onto my USB Flashdrive, etc.
My goal is to prune unwanted rigs from my Kemper.
Here is the theory:
- Make a back up onto my USB Drive.
- Load the USB Drive on my computer
- Make a copy of the backup (archive)
- Go into the folder structure of the backup and delete unwanted rigs.
- Load the 'edited' backup onto the Kemper
Is there any published documentation on the folder structure and how to do this or can someone point me to the thread I *thought* I saw but now can't find? Thanks in advance!

Maybe asking persistently would be more accurate. but I get it, and will drop it.
-
Not demanding, just asking. Your response makes the most sense out of any I have ever received as I used to do a lot of coding for websites.

Again, planned obsolescence is different from mandated obsolescence.
-
Planned obsolescence by the manufacturer is expected. I drive a car until it is done, not because the manufacturer comes out with a new model. The same goes for the computer - it does everything I need other than run current software.
-
bummer but understood.
-
Since Rig Manager isn't really a processor-intensive or processor-specific application, it would be nice and very helpful if a backwards-compatible version could be made available for those of us who have computers that are older, yet not obsolete.
-
Check your operating system against Rig Manager requirements - it does not run on some of the older, yet not obsolete operating systems such as Mac OS 10.5.8.
