'Metascores' on the Rig exchange

I wanted this too. I do not know how much work it is to program this metascore, I would be more than happy to just have and extra column that allows us to sort the listings by number of downloads.

Yes, some different sorting options would help locate profiles. This "metascore" combination of number of votes and score sounds good. Sorting by gain, like is possible on the KPA, would help, too.

A metascore would not make too much sense right now, since most profiles don't have more than a few votes.

Thats why I said it would be good just to have an extra column to enable listing by number of downloads.

I thought so too at first, but have a sneaky feeling that it could become self fulfilling i.e. the profiles with the most downloads get more downloads etc.

But something has to be done about this very minimalistic RE. Let it just be a tag system, also a comment field for the uploader would be nice and the search function doesn't work properly. After searching a few times I have to reload the RE in order to get search results (this happens with different browsers on different machines - pc/mac). It's a very strange behaviour. The RE, being a pretty important part of the KPA, leaves really a lot of room for improvement.

I think it's going to be impossible to have an accurate rig exchange like everyone wants if things are left to the users. For example, suppose we have all these categories and sub-divisions and someone enters something inaccurate. Who's going to sift through everything to ensure consistency?

I think it would be nice to have a preview facility, I know this would vary from guitar to guitar but would be a good guideline as to the sound of the rig

but all that would tell you is how many people were intrigued be the rig's name and decided to give it a try.

That and probably will make others download just based on popularity. Its far from perfect but it does add another sortation option since I had no idea how long it would be to implement the metascore code. Either way, looking forward to whatever you end up adding to it.

Where do these votes come from anyway? I don't see a way for users to vote, so who's voting?

users of course.

after you downloaded a rig, you can rate it by clicking on the stars.

and we implemented a little feature that prevents you from voting for your own rigs.
