When I bought my kemper last year it updated the first time like a champ. The second update I installed I had to mess with it and it finally recognized the kaos.bin file and all was good. I'm wanting to update it again, but after I put in the memory stick and turn on the Kemper it just boots up as normal and is not recognizing the kaos.bin. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you formatted the USB stick on the kemper and put the OS update file in the OS update folder on the USB stick

I insert the memory stick after the KPA is fully booted up. Never had a problem.

My initial problems were resolved when I formatted the stick in the Kemper.

Yes, it has been formatted.... I may be slow, but I aint that slow
I always stick in the USB stick and then boot on the Kemper. I read in another thread that if you turn it on and stick in the USB and switch to browser mode that it should work. Sure enough. When I did that it prompted me through the new firmware update.

I do the exact opposite. I boot up the Kemper THEN put in the USB with the OS update on it. Works every time so far. -
this has happened to me several times.. but there is absolutely no problem.. solution is: simply pull out USB stick from Kemper and re-insert it into Kemper once more time and everything will work
ps: it happens when inserting the memory stick before the KPA is fully booted up. If you insert the memory stick after KPA is booted up you should have not any problem

this is an incomplete quote of a recovery feature that forces the Profiler to install the OS located in the root directory(!) of the USB stick.
it is in no way necessary to update your Profiler like this.instead, always properly 'eject' the USB drive to make sure the write cache is actually transferred.
Mac/Win doesn't matter.
