Post your Kemper Rig Pictures Please

  • My Live Kemper Rig :)

I have got a Kemper Remote now and have to find a good position to place it in the case.
Sometimes i think of getting the Kemper as the Rack Version to build a very small Rack but
my actual case is build like a tank so its okay^^
If you have some suggestions how i can optimize my case please write me ;)

  • Hi Xenn,

this looks very cool! I was thinking of buying something similar for my Toaster.
Is it easy to get it in and out of the case?
Do you have problems with temperature, when it stays in the case?

    Regards,
    LH

    Thanks!
Yes its a great custom case for the Toaster.
Its absolutely no problem to get it in and out. I regularly take the Kemper out of the case.
There are also no problems with the temperature. Even if i play very loud and long it only
    gets slightly warm ;)

  • Is that a case from Thomann?

  • My live rig setup is super simple and compact but has worked out perfectly and not failed me yet.

KPA Power rack mounted in a shallow 4u SKB case. A Shure GLX D14 wireless receiver fits nicely in the spare rack slot (doublesided taped) and leaves enough room to easily store the wireless body pack and the KPA Remotes ethernet cable. The GLX D14 has an inbuit slot that holds and charges the spare bodypack battery, so I always know I'll never be caught out last minute with a dead transmitter. I also keep a spare 20ft standard guitar cable in there just in case the wireless is ever having issues (hasnt happened yet!). I just use whatever the house monitor is for stage reference so there is no need to bring a powered speaker or cab to gigs. I havnt even tried the onboard 600w poweramp to be honest, but it's there as a backup if for some reason there are no stage monitors available (assuming I could loan a cab from someone that is!)

Live the rack is hidden out of sight somewhere behind me with only the remotes ethernet cable needed to be strung out front. Total setup time from start to finish is about 2 minutes! Apologies for the state of the carpet in our rehearsal room.. It's condition is slightly embarrassing! :/

I adapted the power cabling in the back (permanently plugged in at the kemper/wireless end) so I just have one power lead to plug in at the venue and I'm good to go. Cant lose/forget the damn power cable now now it's zip-tied in there either, which is a nice bonus.

The Remote lives inside the back rack lid for travel.

And a pic at the studio this weekend. The Kemper has made setup and sound check so damn easy now I almost cant believe how I put up with setting up (sometime multiple) amps, cabs, pedalboards, mics etc etc before every show. I do love this little magic Kemper box!

Looks like there's only one plug coming out of the case for the Kemper and wireless. What are you using? I currently use a power conditioner but would rather have the space for wires (same rack case as you) and not carry them in a bag.

I just cut into the IEC powercable and spliced in an end of a cheap extension cord (the white plug you can see in the pic). It's now basically a "Y" cable with one end being a main voltage socket for the wirelesss power supply to plug into, and the other the IEC plug that goes into the Kemper.

A simple mod, but effective at keeping things neat, tidy and making setup and fast, easy and stress free.

Oh, I have never used a dedicated power conditioner either. Just never had the need. I do plug into a decent surge suppressor powerstrip coming off the outlet, but IMO anything but the very high end power conditioners are not really worthwhile at all (and I say that as an Electrical Engineer - my day job that gets in the way of my "real job" :D )

Do you have any pictures of it?

  • Hi everyone, I'm only a couple weeks into owning a kemper but it has entirely replaced my boutique amps live. Really liking it. I've always liked running ODs and wet fx into a clean amp for drive, I think it's more flexible. Here's some shots of my gear and me playing my trusty american standard natural finish tele at my church here in Las Vegas.

Here's my amps that don't get much love any more now that I have the kemper! I profiled them using a Palmer PGA-04.

I find that I get fewer ground loop issues when I plug my pedalboard and amp into the same power strip, so the other power cable in this pic runs from the rack to my pedal board.

Current board. Drives change often depending on how I'm feeling but the only one that never leaves is the JHS morning glory. Just picked up the J. Rockett Archer to replace my old Arc Effects Klone because it's a lot smaller.

I'm on the left playing lead on the tele.[Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/yMA7CV7.jpg][Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/oamePUi.jpg]

My other two guitars. Been playing the duesenberg a lot more often lately.

Just wondering what you consider to be the "very high end" of power conditioning ;) -- I somehow found my way to an engineering thread on a forum somewhere discussing decent power supply and names like Furman and Samson especially were getting trashed! Names like UPS & TrippLite were getting praised though haha ...?
