That is the funny thing.
You get a sweet nice guitar and treat it like a fragile egg and then you get a ding and treat it like a scrambled egg!
Story:
I had one such. Candy Apple red coating which cracked n chipped just looking at it. Got so frustrated I stripped it down to wood. The day I was doing it, it rained so I threw it all in the black back I had for all the disassembled parts. The neck was wrapped in a black t-shirt. So the t-shirt soaked up ALL the water from the deluge that fell from the sky and warped the neck. Frets popped up, the seam where it was cut to put in the truss split. I put it into a kiln for 2 years and put it (hammered really) back onto the guitar and it was unplayable as a regular neck. So I used it for slide, haha! When I found the money, I sent it to the manufacturer (MusicMan) and they (though it was a righty) put on a lefty neck with a compensated nut. They said it was "the only Lefty Axis Sport in the world with our new compensated nut" lol. So I decided to cut the bottom of the guitar for my hands to get up the neck more past the 12 the fret and put loads of stickers on it. "Pimped" I call it. Project, whatever you want. Point is, I NEVER intended to sell it as I loved it and love it still. The new neck was never as good as the old. That was a 10.0 guitar and now it's a 9.5 neck-wise, but still one of my favorites to play (fast action, eddy van halen lasered neck design)
