Cheers, changes my shopping list a bit then.

If you buy a cable that is shielded at both ends, you can remove one of the shields, and put it on another cable

Better IMO: The Neutrik connector is available separately and easy to retrofit on a normal Cat5 cable.
I've already made a spare cable for myself. -
I made two spare cables from one normal CAT5 and one Variax/G-System cable

Hehe, but if you're running out of Variax cables?
FYI I ordered a few of these: http://www.thomann.de/de/neutrik_ne_8_mc.htm
You simply click them on a normal CAT5 and you're done. -
Yes - your solution is much cheaper!

For everyone in the US here is a great place to get them for about $3 each.

I have one of those, but they have way too much travel for me. I can' t use them for wah wah.
How are you adjusting to them?
I quite like the amount of travel, although I have to say I haven't used them in a live setting yet (we've been on rehearsal hiatus while recording).I use the right one for volume; it's set up in the "seated" position so that it maxes out horizontally (with the "fortissimo" spring feature disabled).
The left one uses the spring to "overshoot" but automatically return to the horizontal position; I think I like having that tangible "step" in its movement where the spring kicks in, as a kind of orientation point for my foot.
Using it for wah, I don't always use the entire range but kind of ride a middle region somewhere (aided by said orientation point), where the modulation is the most effective to my ears. I guess I have the wah effect in my profiles set up with a wider range than I usually require. But it's fun to know that I can go higher or lower if I want to.

Hey, congratulations, Floorboarder #1
With the FC7s, that spring is invaluable for some really quirky wah and whammy work. I don't find the throw terribly hard to work with either.

Hey, thanks for your tips earlier in this thread! As you can see, I've set it up the way you described. I've tried the pedal pitch settings you suggested and it's pretty cool to be able to shift down and up, but still be able to return to the original pitch easily thanks to the spring. Must find a use for this now in a new song. -

Wow I just now noticed the custom user tag I got. Loving this! -

Bringing this thread back to life... Anyone in the US find a decent-priced equivalent of the Diago or Swan case in the States? Only thing I'm seeing out there is stupid expensive and/or a PedalTrain Pro with soft case.
-
There are some eBay sellers who offer inexpensive road cases - one made with 1/4" wood + laminate would be more than sturdy enough for regular gigs.

Rod, just to clarify, the one you linked is for non-preassembled cables only it seems, isn't it?

I'm a new user. I played my first gig with the KPA, remote, and DXR 10 last night. I had this board laying around and tried it last night. It worked fine and provides solid protection for the remote.
-
That looks like a great fit, and it has a place for an expession pedal, too.
-
Is there room for the cables in the back of the remote? Looks like they might be a bit of a squeeze.
