Sorry about that - can't seem to find it. If you happen to be bored out of your skull at some point, please paste a link.
i'm using my phone at the moment - if no one beats me to it, I will post a link later.

So I updated to 3.0. Great job guys, sounds exactly the same as before which is what I like to hear :).
Still not sold on the merged profiles though, they all exhibit the same harsh amp sim-y IR like sound that I experienced when making my own, also a couple are really hard on the intermodulation effects, almost sounds like aliasing. Maybe I'll grow to love them later, but for right now I'll stick to "studio" style profiles as I don't need to play live through a real guitar cab where I'm sure they sound glorious if at the sacrifice of some of the FOH/Desk sound.
Sorry to insist, but... Could anyone clarify how cabinet profiles are produced? Are we just talking about IR? Thank you!
Does the new firmware also means that we can get the "in the room" sound now? I'm not sure how the cabinet profile is taken...
FW 3.0 has nothing to do with the room sound.

No, IR has nothing to do with it.
How the cab profile is produced?
1. You do a full amp profile
2. You do a direct amp profile
3. The Profiler subtracts the direct amp from the full profile. = exact separation between amp and cab.
Before FW 3 the separation was guesswork by the cabdriver.
You can also read up on this in the manual addendum that comes with the update.
Ingolf, I thought maybe it was in some way similar to the IR format... Please see my post above to understand my basic lack of understanding of the new profiling process...

Thank you! Makes perfect sense!
Starsend, it will depend on what kind of cabinet you use. if you use a guitar cabinet and Direct Amplifier Profiles , you will get the profiled amplifier + the sound of your cabinet. The room sound will come from the room you are in, just like with a regular amp.
With a FRFR cabinet and Studio Profiles, the sound of a Kemper profile of a cabinet will include the influence of the microphone used and the placement of the microphone. The sound of the room you are in will also influence what you hear.
But, an FRFR cabinet , aimed at your face will minimize the room's influence, and feel a bit different than a guitar cabinet.
Aiming a guitar cabinet at your face without adjusting the volume and tone controls will completely remove the room influence and Sound absolutely terrible, and is to be avoided
Smooth transition here , all seems good !!! time to re-profile my amps !!!
Thanks Kemper
Having rig switching issues here. Sound will drop out for a few seconds when switching between the new rigs. Has some low frequency digital stuttering going on too. Did a system reset and still there. If I lock the delay and reverb off is seems to go away. Note that I switch rigs via a momentary switch set to rig up/down
Also the digital swooshing after a palm muted note is back.

@deadpan does it sound like this
First distinct bug encountered here: crash dump if you try to store (post) Effects Rack. Reboots fine on Exit. Can anyone else test to confirm like results? I'll send Kemper support the screen shot in the AM.
System Settings: Pages 4&5 are almost unreadable like a white out, all other pages are fine. I'm assuming that pages 4-5 have to do with the remote.
Maybe it's supposed to be that way since I don't have the KPR plugged in... Unavailable options
I had what I would consider a serious bug. I had a cabinet locked and was scrolling profiles, however the profile sound was not changing. While the screen showed I was scrolling through profiles, the sound and the actual profile did not move. Anyone ran into this?
Does the new firmware also means that we can get the "in the room" sound now? I'm not sure how the cabinet profile is taken...
You could get the "in the room" sound before now you can get the "in the perfect room" sound.

Well, you don't need cabinet Profiles, you can just use IRs if you want to.
you can create a cabinet profile, but at this time you cant export the cab only.
Once you have merged a Profile of a Studioprofile + DI Profile of the same setting/chain
you can save that cab and use with any 3.0 DI profile (merged + unmerged) without merging again
that way you can also use the hesu cab included in my profiles with any DI profile without to worry abou micing
I still have one question...
How can you differentiate between a regular Profile prior to FW 3.0 and a new "Direct Amp FW 3.0 Profile"?
so far - not, only in amp comment from the merged pack. But there will be soon something like a new tag for Rig manager
