Hey All,
I have a toaster in transit.....Where do you suggest that I start to learn how to use this thing and get a "for dummies" starting place. I'm an old school amp guy.....want to learn to how to use this profiler properly :).
New and looking for help starting correctly with the Kemper

Welcome to the forum! The homegrown wiki would be a good place to start: http://www.wikpa.org
-
Also, you can download the "Basics and Profiling Guide" and the "Deeper View and Reference" manuals.
-
Welcome! Searching the forums for questions you may will get you a long way also... Won't be able to get into the Private section of the forum until you register your new toaster..
-
Welcome!!! The forum has some really great users that are very helpful. Kemper employees and mods pipe in as well.

Welcome to the gang!
If you are familiar with multieffect units or pedalboards, Kemper will be very easy and intuitive...
... but read the manuals!!! ... and the Wikpa too!!! -
Hello and welcome . operating the Kemper at a basic level is very easy and intuitive should be no problem, however there is a lot more "under the bonnet" these days so gotta be a good idea to follow the suggestions already made. no need to rush though, quite a few new users seem to start panicking if they dont get a great sound within 10 minutes of firing up the machine...

Welcome! Please read the manuals first, they're very comprehensive and contain lots of good information. Then start to play with your profiler.
For further questions consult the WiKPA and the forum. -
There is only ONE way to start the KPA right:
1) Read the Manual and...
2) Read the WikiWait, let me start over.... There are only TWO ways to start the KPA right:
1) Read the Manual,
2) Read the Wiki, and...
3) Ask help questions on this forumWait, there's only THREE..
DOH!! I give up!!! -
Reading the manual will help, but I found just playing and messing around with it is the best way to get an idea of what the KPA features do. I've learnt lots from the guys on this forum too probably more than ever reading the manual. Also like mentioned above the Wiki is a great resource to

what's a manyal?

Welcome!..I have had mine now for a month, and as many have said before me,with infinitely more knowledge than i,ask specifics, play around with it,read the manual..
It took me a week to even read anything,as i was just playing and finding my faves -
You can definitely spend a LOT of time just clicking through the factory profiles. Particularly when you hit those ones that inspire a couple of hours of jamming.
-
There is another way to start with the KPA:
Turn on KPA to browse, plug in guitar, plug in headphones and begin to play: Look things up as questions arise. Very easy to get started making good tones with this Tone Monster!!! -
Get it out of the transit! The KPAs EQ is good but not miraculous.

Welcome !

Welcome to the forums. Agreed, reading the manual and the wikpa are your best options as of now. But you could also check out some of the videos about profiling and tweaking a profile on youtube, some of those are very helpful.

Hey Andy, welcome

Welcome and enjoy!
My suggestion is to read first the Basics and Profiling Guide and then Wkpa.

Hee!
I started this week and I got some tips.
First buy an USB stick if you don't have one, then put it in the profiler if your firmware is not 3.0 or higher.
Download the latest firmware at http://www.kemper-amps.com/start
Then put that file into the OS that the Kemper put on your USB stick. Then I'd suggest you instal Rig Manager.
What I did was throw everything out in Rig Manager and I bought And44's profiles which are sick! Awsum amps for around 120e or 70 pounds. It cost something but damn they are good. That way you don't have crappy profiles in your amp and everything is very much usable. Different profiles for Les Paul, Telecaster and Stratocaster sound Basically everything you need!
Good luck
