I've had my Kemper only a few days and already have two of his packs!
I want to delete everything that is not his, all the others pale in comparison.
Michael Britt is the Holy Grail when it comes to profiling!!!!!
First M Britt profile pack tips?
-
-
I pretty much did the same!
Started with the Dumble and the 69 Marshall packs, and deleted everything else on the Kemper.
A few days ago I added TopJimi's brown sound pack which is also pretty cool.
Britt's are my favorites so far. -
The M Britt Modern Pack and TAF Finale Pack 10 are literally the only profiles left on my Kemper, and I haven't even explored 3/4 of them - have spent too much time playing all the patches I've saved based on the amazing profiles I've already found.
-
Bought the heavy pack this morning and was disappointing. Sounds muffled like under a blanket.
-
Before you spend any money, I might recommend waiting a couple of days. I have a feeling you'll be able to get some additional free profiles in the very near future. Then, if you need more after that, you can still go to the website and get more (with updated pricing too).

Fuck, already bought this morning!
-
No harm done, 'Lubester; you can't go wrong with Michael's Profiles.

While some people have been able to find immediate nirvanha with a set of great commercial profiles, such as from Michael Britt @lonestargtr, without any additional tweaking...that has never been my experience. I also am a big fan of Michael's profiles, as well as those from Top Jimi, TAF, and Guidorist. Nevertheless, there has never been a single profile that I haven't needed to tweak, to adapt it to my personal preferences. I think Michael would be the first to agree that this is to be expected.I would try making a few tweaks to the following parameters, which can really open up a good profile, and turn it into something uniquely special (which is always a matter of subjective preference):
play around with the following parameters in the Amp Module:
Definition
Clarity
Compressor
Pick
Tube Shape
Tube BiasOf these, the first three (Definition, Clarity and Pick) have very significant influences and tone shaping characteristics.
You also might want to experience swapping out the stock cabinet that comes with commercial profile, and replace it with a Cabinet that you have as a favorite / preset.
Cheers,
John -
I'm talking about the same thing in 2 thread here so moving over to
as it's specifically about the Heavy Pack which is the one I purchased.
Shoutout to @lonestargtr for the refund based on the new pricing!

Make sure you try the mbritt profiles at full gig volume before you write them off as being muffled. I have the heavy pack and I play through a couple of dxr10's. The mbritt profiles absolutely come to life and a beautifully balanced when playing with a live band at live volume.
-
Bedroom player here. Most of the reason I got a Kemper was because I can't play at loud volumes!
-
Fair enough.
Try this pack from Michael: http://www.mbrittprofiles.com/home/d-wood.html
It screams at low volume too.

agreed, this one is great for lower volumes and recording.

Nice. I've promised myself not to buy more than 1 profile pack a month so I won't overwhelm myself with profiles and end up not trying most of them but I'll put it on the list!

You're far-more sensible than most of us, mate. Fantastic policy.

Easier said than done, I have a list...

New free pack
Michael Britt Rig Pack released -
If they're muffled at low volumes, Adjust Definition and Amp EQ controls...
I tweak almost all of the profiles from all vendors, even those that are pretty much close to perfect at first listen.
It's like an amp... tweak it to taste once you find one in the ballpark! That's what I love about the Kemper so much!
Even if it's only close, it can usually be dialed in with relative ease! -
- Get the free Britt pack. Adjust to taste as @GLiDE-BPM says and don't buy lots you won't use. Done
