I met Oli Herbert of ATR at a friends guitar shop earlier this year, he was playing through the Kemper. I was blown away by the quality of the sounds/profiles he used. His business manager was a big time advocate of the Kemper and I spoke with both of them at length about the amp. I decided that my gigging life would be greatly simplified if I were to become a user so I purchased the rack mounted pre-amp version and coupled it with a Crown XTi-2000 power amp and am using a Marshall 1960A loaded with EVM12-L speakers as my stage monitor, it's heavy but does not color the sound the way Celestions would. I also run direct through the PA through a pair of stereo linked channels from my Presonus 32RM digital mixer. I've loaded mostly profiles of exotic amps like Dumble's, Morgan's, hi-end ENGL's etc. Also have profiled a friends 1970's Plexi, my own early 70's Fender Twin with Altec 12's and my 1983 Mesa Mark IV loaded with an EVM12-L. I also have loaded a bunch of bass amps, Ampegs, SUNN, SanAmp, etc as I also gig as a bass player. I use my MarkBass cabs (2X10's and 1X15's) with the same Kemper rig for bass gigs.
I love the variety of sounds I have available for my gigs as we cover lot's of different songs from different bands in the 2 rock bands that I am a member of. I also play guitar in an original latin jazz band and the Kemper has everything I need for that as well. Will be expanding my horizons with an all original melodic metal band in the very near future as well, just waiting for everyone to back out their other commitments.
Have to admit I am still learning new things about this wonderful beast every day.
