Hello, I've been using the Kemper for about two years now. I currently run the Facebook group 'Kemper P&W'. I have owned a remote but had to get rid of it due to finances. I'm looking for a cheaper alternative and came across this. I really only need to be able to choose between presets 1-5 in a performance and think this would work. I have no knowledge of MIDI so I'm pretty ignorant. Any experiences or thoughts? Thank you!
Thoughts/Experience with the Synergy SYN-R5 MIDI Pedal

The problem I see is there are no banks. So you would only have five rigs to choose.
Look into the Behringer FCB1010, you can also get this with the Kemper mod chip.
-
Another choice is the MIDI Mongoose. It's the same price and also is a 5 button MIDI switcher, but has banks as well as two expression pedal inputs if you decide to start going that route.
-
Thank you, that's actually what I ended up ordering! All I want to do is be able to switch between banks in a performance so I hope it will work for that!
-
I was also thinking cost friendly footswitch for Kemper. That Synergy looks simple enough for me.
Just one question. Can it be programmed to switch between 1-5 midi programs in perfomance mode? I don't need to switch between midi banks really.

A note to anyone considering the Synergy pedal - it comes preprogrammed for four channels and a bypass. Be sure to look at the manual to determine if it can be programmed for your intended use.
-
Thanx for replies. It makes sense that it would work with Kemper, since they state on their site that it's programmable for other midi devices. However, I didn't find the manual so I asked them about that. What they replied was "We don't recommend doing that".
Ok, thanx?

If you want a midi controller rather than the Kemper Remote I can second the RJM Mastermind series. I have a Mastermind PBC on my old pedal board and its unbelievably flexible. I used it with the Kemper until I got the Remote. The RJM editor comes with all the midi mapping ore loaded so you just have to decide how you want to configure the buttns themselves.
-
Mastermind looks like a really decent option. Only that I was looking for something a bit cheaper. I think it's a bit odd that an amp that costs well over 2000 € is not included with a control pedal.
I think my weapon of choice will be either Tech 21 Midimongoose or this.

.............or this.
Wow, Big T is hitting on the price front again.
I didn't see a connection for a power supply on the picture.?
The text sounds promising.!

The Harley Benton looks interesting but I don’t trust batteries.
At that price point I would seriously cut nsider the FCB1010. It’s probably more pedal than you need just now but includes two Expression pedals and main power. They are build like tanks and you can retrofit them with either Uno4Kemper or Eureka chips that they rn them into Kemper Remotes for very little money if you don’t want to program midi.

Me too!
There is one feature described I do not understand fully : " On Board charging function for rechargeable batteries" - How?

The Harley Brenton foot controller is rebranded MIDI controller made by Melo Audio and you can download the user manual at https://meloaudio.com/

Quote fro, Melo Ausio Link:
Be powered by all: No batteries or external power required for any of the above features. To charge your iPhone,iPad,or iPod touch(or reduce power consumption for compatible Android devices)while you play, add a standard mobile phone adapter for power supply
Unquote.
I am wondering how you can plug in a power supply and a IPad at the same time in the USB.Connector Type B of the Harley Benton ??
The Mel Audio shows an additional mikro USB connection for Power supply
-
I neither don't understand that quote. How can you charge your phone if the USB is used by the power supply? By the rechargable batteries?
Anyway, ended up getting Nektar Pacer. Still haven't tested it, but I hope I won't get lost in the midi jungle.

I've used the Nektar Pacer - works fine
