Hi Guys, I recently switched a Marshall 4x12 for 2x 212's.... this has made me think about going stereo. However, I have the Powerhead so have the Onboard mono poweramp....
Can I add a stereo power amp and bypass the on board kemper one?
Thanks in advance.....

Going Stereo with mono poweramp

You could add a second power anp and set the Monitor Out to Stereo. You would then connect the second amp to the Direct Out.
Alternatively do the same thing but use a stereo power amp with one side connected to the Monitor Output instead of the Speaker Out. -
aaah I see... so I can run a second mono power amp and use both together.... would I need to match the power outputs? As in, would I need a 2nd 600Watt Power amp?

No need to match the power outputs.
I recommend the Seymor Duncan PS-170.
It’s very similar to the in-built poweramp of the Powerhead (very neutral sounding).

Will 170 watts be enough Grunt for Live work?

I have one myself and would think so. The SD-170 is insanely loud.

If 170 watts won't get it done, something is very, very wrong. Or, you're trying to fill a sizable room without a PA for reinforcement. In which case....the mix is going to be great for and handful and "ice-pick, shoot me now" bad for everyone else.
That 600 watts covers guitar and bass, where bass needs far more power to push the low frequencies. -

I would rather go for the PS-200, the upgrades are really worthy, and sound is in the same line of neutral, as far as I heard.

As counterpoint, if you don't need the extra features (cab sim button, eq button, presence control) - the extra 30 watts isn't worth the $100 more it costs.
