Is this possible? If so, with the advent of the Kemper as an Audio interface then I'm assuming there may be a possibility / market for this ....or am I missing something ?
Has anyone tried profiling Mic Preamps yet for (e.g.) vocal recording ?

yes, i 've see somes rigs to sale years ago

RigExchange has some of those - at least some made out of plugins. Look for author Downfall Studio and the "Liquid" stuff, Neve, API, Avalon. And there is more. Preamp X73i or API 512.
So yes, possible and for me it makes a lot of sense. I'm using some of the above for acoustic guitars and as well for re-amping of various tracks incl. vocals.

I never thought of that but that's a great idea. It should work great. That opens a whole world of possibilities.

There is a great rig pack for acoustic guitar that includes profiles of some mic preamps and mixing desk channel strips so it can definitely be done.
