Hi Will, welcome! Myself coming from an 11r to the Kpa, was an expensive step, but the sound sure is worth it IMO. I figured I'd easily spend more on a decent tube setup.

Welcome Will,
I have been a Fan, and follower of all your excellent threads, over at TGP.
I know, from all your previous reviews, that whatever you have to say about the KPA, will be honest, and objective.
Already enjoyed your first impressions.
Keep them coming.
I am very excited that you are a now a member here!!! -
Hi Will, nice to see you here hope you're going to enjoy your time. Welcome!
-
Welcome, Will.
Give yourself a few days to get used to the workings of the KPA.
I confess, I'm not happy with your headphones only situation, however, I hope the KPA meets those expectations. -
Welcome!

Enjoy the KPA ride!

Welcome!!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I did my first profile last night of my main overdriven patch on the GSP1101. Incredible! Now the trick is to start really diving into parameters and how to tweak rigs. I initially dismissed the stock profiles, but I think I need to revisit a few and experiment with some parameters and pre/post EQ.
-
Used the GSP as well years ago - you'll love the Kemper!
-
In so far as stock Profiles, my favourites would be.
Goldie - Gibson Goldtone
Bad Kittie - Bad Cat
The Chief - Matchless Chieftan...check out the Profile called Pure Blues. Also check out the 'Both Worlds' stock Profile/rig...it's the Steavens Poundcake amp.
If you check out a stock Profile and like it, remember to select "Current Author" settings to see all Profiles by that particular author.
And finally.
If you like something then press and hold the "Rig" button to save it in your Favourites...that makes it easy to access/find it whenever you like. -
Try also the 69 (vox top boost) and the Country Mile, with a bit of tweaking they are fantastic! If you like i can send you the tweaked versions.
-
Welcome here as well
-
Thanks again for the welcomes! Regarding sending me profiles, for now I will decline but thanks so much for the offer. I need to focus on understanding the unit. I'm already knee deep in profiles. Too many to audition them all in any kind of reasonable period. But I've noted the suggestions on the stock ones to check out.
-
Be sure to check out the S. Mehl profiles and save off the cab. It's a nice vintage greenback that will spice up every Marshall profile - factory or not. And the S. Mehl amp is a heck of a rock amp in it's own right as well.
It should be among the factory sounds if your Kemper is running firmware 1.1.0 and later.
