Any of you guys familiar with this particular guitar? We don't see many of these here in the states and I'm wondering if this is worth looking at.

With a Bolt-on neck is overpriced (to be honest would be damn cheap with a set-on neck). Framus are excellent guitars, but I would not get a vintage archtop with bolt-on neck: good chances are that is going to be screwed. All this from gut-feel, if you can try it first and then decide go for it.

Yeah, that concerned me as well (bolt on neck with a hollow body guitar), but figured you guys in Europe would know if it was a hidden gem. I have too many guitars as it is ...

Lol! No pun intended, I've realized only after reading your post...

old Framus guitars have been slowly becoming collector's items and the prices in europe have been going up steadily.
it might be a nice guitar, I wouldn't rule it out just because of the way the neck/body joint was constructed.
there are great bolt-ons and shabby set neck guitars out there - it needs to be played to estimate its worth.sure looks nice, though.

So one (slightly) positive comment. Do those pickups look original? Any comments on them?
-
I don't know about the pickups.
In the 'old days' before reestablishing the brand 'Framus' was a company that, like several other European manufacturers, tried to copy the big American companies like Fender and Gibson.
The guitars of these old days often were hit or miss.
There are decent ones out there but also a lot of lemons.
Still even the oldest ones are far away from really being collectors items.
But: If the price is right and you can play the thing before you buy.... -
I guess I'm a sucker for that pretty wood (and, please, no donbarzini comments!)
However, I think I'll skip this one ...

I used to write a lot on an old Framus 12 string acoustic, and I remember how comfortable it was to play, and a lovely sound. I miss it!
Look at it this way....could the neck be beyond repair? $650 for what looks to be a sweet instrument, is not bad.
It needs a new home...go for it!
