So after reading the compiled wiki I have learned that profiles of stompboxes are saved the same as amp profiles.
Do KPA users make and use these profiles? Or are they impractical because they can't be combined with an amp profile?
Using stompbox (fuzz, compression, eq) profiles

They are as practical as in real life.
Profile a fuzzbox with a clean amp or a TS with a slightly overdriven amp, it all goes.
But remember you only can profile a complete signal chain.
You cannot profile a stomp and switch it on/off. -

They cannot be combined with an amp profile.I've profiled my overdrives in front of an amp and the profile was usable but the fuzzboxes lost a lot of their interaction with the guitar volume and, in my opinion, were not usable.

I've profiled most of my not-so-small fuzz collection and the profiles are great!

My pleasure, Gianfranco.
I still 'owe' you you the 'pedal works as incremental rig switch' essay.
I'm simply incredibly busy at the moment.

So you are not sharing any those super great profiles ni the Rig Exchange?
Kids: believe me, profiling fuzzes doesn't work well. Are there any good fuzzes profiles in the Rig Exchange or in any of Andy's or Armin's packs? No. I'm not affiliated in any way to Kemper so my opinion is unbiassed.
Have a nice day,

I'm happy there will be a few days off over Easter.

I will at some point. there will be an announcement, too

wrong. In fact this is the first time I managed to get my fuzz sounds translated into the digital realm.
I even profiled the very same three transistor fuzz circuit repeatedly with different transistors and the Profiler captures the nuances between MPSA18, AC128, BC109, 2N3904 etc nicely.
also different combinations and order. (yes, it's a circuit that mixes NPN and PNP)[Blocked Image: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e229/donelectro/IMG_20130214_201800_zpsc9c2cf97.jpg]

As I can see, you know a lot about fuzzboxes. No irony here, really.

Have a nice day,
PacoI use Bill Ruppert's German Fuzz swapped with the Morgan AC20 cab. But I guess "good" is subjective...

Hi! I've tried it and I like how it sounds. But, back to constructive criticism, what I miss is the reaction of the Fuzz Face to small changes in the guitar volume. The sound is completely different with volume at 10, 9 or 8. Fuzz Face loves the impedance of the guitar in front of it so maybe building one of this will improve this reaction or maybe just the tone. I'm not shure...

I you say so... lucky you. Enjoy them.
like I said, these will be released at a later time.
I sense some bitterness in your posts - not sure why that is.

The sound is completely different with volume at 10, 9 or 8.true, but that's a very specific thing about the Fuzz Face circuit. In fact no other fuzz from that era displays this behaviour. I just turn the pot a little further to get that sound/feel. Your ears can tell you where that spot is, even if your volume pot displays a different value. Ears over eyes.

yup, that's what I'm using with 'difficult' fuzzes like the Factory for exsample. This has been pointed out here at the forum repeatedly.

Thank you very much! Sorry, I missed those threads about profiling fuzzboxes. I'll do a search and probably build one of those pickup emulators.
Sorry for that bitterness in my post. It's edited as it goes nowhere.

I think it was r.u. sirius who started talking about them.
edit: I see you figured that out already
