Figured I'd share the good news here. I partook in the Wampler "Waves of shred" competition and won! Much to my surprise as imperfect as my solo was. But sometimes you're the hammer and sometimes you're the nail...

Saw/heard your vid entry and I just want to say: Outstanding musicianship! What a treat to hear melody, dynamics, the nice buildup from soulful flowing phrasing to smooth high speed riffage. Clear and clean execution (I couldn't hear any flubs) super tasty construction. Well done, really!

Hey guys. Thank you so much for all the kind words. It's very much appreciated. I can't figure out how to reply to these comments in turn and to address the questions so I hope this ends up somewhat in the right place.
The prize was a Wampler Dual Fusion pedal which really kicks some major ass. I love it! I have it hooked up to my Bogner Shiva combo right now and it's just a wonderful sounding pedal. One of the best overdrives I've ever used actually.
I actually used a Egnater Tour Master profile (not an Elmwood as I posted on the video. Mistake on my end), that I found on the forum. Put a little reverb and delay on it and that's pretty much it. I hate to tweak and I feel like if I have to spend to much time getting a sound right, it probably wasn't that good to begin with I like really midrange-y sounds for lead guitar since it cuts through really well (especially when you have no power to influence the balance or eq of the mix) without having to put the track too loud.
