If the plug-in satisfy all your needs, no need to keep the kemper.
They are just tools
That's effectively post EQ though - not saying it wouldn't sound good, but I'm talking about boosting the input into the Amp to improve (or idealise is maybe a better word here) the response and feel of a profile.
depending on the profile I had better results with the dist sense rather than the pure boost. Maybe it’s just my ears lol.
treble booster before the amp is the one that feel the more « alive » kemper drives are great but they can put high artifacts really quick.
Yep but honestly for gigs the tuner when the volume pedal is at 0 is a really great feature.
I'm practically using a treble booster on every profile.
post or pre? I use it post and also pre as an gain pusher. I use mainly plexi profiles.
Wonder it if was me or he got it from me
I've been doing this for years.
Giwrgos ? Is that you? Lol.
A fellow kemperist met on Facebook one day told me to put a treble booster after the amp and cab block and adjust with very low settings.
It was the best advice ever and my profiles came to life.
stupid question from a beginner: can you assign different effects on the Morph of a Rig? Haven't tried it...
there is no such thing as a stupid question !
No, you can only morph effects that are already activated on the normal rig.
Is there any freebies to test?
140 bucks is a lot of money to just « give it a try »
Never had lags between rigs in one performance page.
but some when you move from a performance to another.
I also have the « cut off ». Notes are dying too quickly. I mainly solved it ( not entirely though) by adjusting the clean sense higher.
For the volumes, it can be really tricky if you use different amps profiles or cab profile.
For live use. I just use one profile that I’ve tweaked to go from clean to full lead shred lol.
I don’t understand the difference though.
I have read many of your posts and know that you have very specific needs due to the nature of theatre shows. Most of the things you need, and the way you use the system, would cause my brain to explode (I’m a really simple guy). However, having read your explanations I totally understand why your workflow is necessary for the type of work you do. I have massive respect for players like yourself who do those gigs. In this instance I am just trying to understand how “scenes” differ from the current KPA version.
what I want is effects blocks available on different configurations with any switch.
For the moment you can’t assign an effect to more than one switch.
Exemple again
I want to be able to turn on :
drive + delay on sw1
Drive + delay + eq on 2
Phaser+ delay + reverb on 3
Etc etc
it’s impossible for the moment as one effect is only assignable to one switch.
With this i will not have to create a performance for each song because of the limitations.
You’ll be able to create 5 basic rigs with 4 more effects scenes on each one.
So a lot of possibilities with not much to remember
how does this differ from the current ability to assign multiple FX to the same footswitch. You can use a FS to turn on/off multiple fx and/or toggle between two or more FX on the same switch?
you can’t assign an effect to more than one switch.
Hi,
I own a stage
A great update that wouldn’t require hardware update would be « effects scenes switching ».
The 4 switch could be assigned to work in a different mode.
Turning on and off any effects that are in the rig.
Fs1 could turn on Overdrive + chorus
Fs2 overdrive + boost + delay
having 4 effects scenes plus the morph can be a really great addition especially for live use.
Bought a stage in April.
Had this problem day one.
Then not having it anymore with one update
Now it’s back since the latest update.
Each time when it’s plugged to the computer with rig manager open.
Also have some random freeze of the unit while browsing profiles in rig manager.
so I think it’s a software issue, but it’s a software issue that really need to be solved!
I’m a little upset that some piece of gear promoted by « it’s the top of the world premium-pro-ultimate-sound » that cost 1600€ have problems that a line6 pod x3 live never had.
The problem will not be in finding the right profile but finding the cab ir or cab block.
Instead of searching for « ready to go » profiles, browse the rig manager searching for the huge cab sound
Try to Cranck the tube shape.
There’s still a lot of room for kemper to upgrade their products.
If they could start by putting some graphic eq on amp section, cab section, and output section it would be great.
JB is a great choice. Got one in my strat, and it really sound great if splitted in single coil also.
I know there’s a ton a great pickups but the jb always been the more versatile for me.
Just one mission ep1 kp on the right (I play left handed).
Enough for me as i use only wha volume and pitch (whammy).
