To answer your question I failed to yesterday, I doubt it’s anything related to your signal path (interface, DAW, computer). Just make sure you’re gain staging properly and not clipping anything on the way in or out.

Try to experiment and record the same riff doubletracked and panned (or use Space in the output menu) . Mono close mic sound it's almost always sounds very dry and unpleasant.
Ive always double tracked sometimes even quad tracked.I think using space will colour the signal slightly...maybe...i will give it a try tho ?
Yeah i find most of the metal high end distortion profiles are quite unusable...i hope im wrong on this because thats one of the main reasons i purchased a kemper.
AdamMassacre1981 , listening on my phone, I don’t think it sounded all that bad. I know feel has a lot to do with it, but on sound alone, I’d give it a B-.
The strength of the Profiler has everything to do with the strength of the profiles. Have you tried the freebies on the Rig Exchange? Have you tried any third-party vendors? Multiple third-party vendors? I won’t name names (unless prompted), but just because a pack costs good money doesn’t mean it’s plain good.
And at the end of the day, it’s all a matter of preference. I’ve never felt that ultra-high gain was the Profiler’s strongest suit. I know some would fight me on that. Maybe the Fractal would be be a better match? Or your amps plus the UA OX.

you cannot really compare a Profile taken from one amp with another amp (same model & make) and expect them to sound the same, since the cabinet, mic and the placement of the mic play such a huge part.
are you experienced with close mic'd amp sounds, as you would have in a studio setting, where the amp sits next to you but the speaker is in a booth far, far away and you only hear the mic'd signal over the studio monitors?
if you want 'amp-in-the-room', play the PROFILER over a guitar cabinet (OUTPUT section, page 1, enable 'Monitor Cab Off')
close mic'd amps have A LOT of aggressive high end in them, either place an EQ in the EFFECTS section and set 'Low Cut' and 'High Cut' (page 4/5) to taste, or try the 'Pure Cabinet' feature.
Also, if your monitoring over headphones, enable 'Space', OUTPUT menu, page 5/7

I find i struggle quite alot with high end distortion on my kemper i purchased the unity mainly for Metal after seeing quite alot of users getting amazing sounds from the unit.I find when in my DAW im forced to use drastic high pass and low pass EQ to the point it doest even resemble the original profile anymore.I will play around with the cab option and figure something out...it may just be the actual profiles just dont work for what im needing.

https://soundcloud.com/adam-massacre-595544843/rockerverb-50 this is an Orange Rockerverb profile.I own an actual Rockerverb 50 and it sounds nothing like this mess.It seems to have this fizz kinda phasey cheap sound.No body no life.Reminds of a 70s kung fu distortion sound if that makes sense? lol almost ALL my profiles have this problem.This is straight into Cubase using my ESP 1007 eclipse through my 2i4.I purposly used single notes to try and show you the dodgy fizzy phasey sound.

Not so much a rant more of me hitting a wall.
It seams no matter what i do i cant seem to get a great sound from my setup.My Kemper just sounds bad when playing back the recording in my DAW (cubase 5).
It sounds cheap and well...sh*t in all honesty.
My interface is the focusrite 2i4 my guitars are in the £1000+ range so it certainly aint my guitars but through the kemper they sound like an argos £100 special beginner pack.The kemper bundles are purchased from well known respected artists everything says it should sound great but it just doesnt.Even when i used other software (bias amp etc) they again sounded guff and cheap.
Could it be my DAW or maybe the USB connection into my PC or even maybe the interface is clashing with the crappy onboard soundcard?...i really have no idea why its messing with me so much...clearly im doing something wrong and have been for a long time.
My cable situation is guitar into front input of kemper.Cable directly from main left out directly into my 2i4 and interface set to line and kemper out set to master mono.I also record in cubase using a mono track.The Interface USB goes direct into my pc.(windows 10).Ive updated the 2i4 drivers and no change.
Any advice to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Desperate for help because im thinking of just selling it and packing it all in. ??

The best solution. You also have to remember that a lot of metal tones outside of a mix will sound fizzy. As soon as you have it double tracked and cymbals/hats are there, it might sound dull without the fizz.
I use a darker tone live than when recording to achieve the same result.
always doubIe track even sometimes quad track when doing metal and i do the pan left right and EQ the harsh frequencies maybe its just a lot of metal profiles dont work for me and im being lazy looking for a quick ready to use profile.Most of the time i just dont have the time to sit down for hours a day fine tweeking tones/profiles i wish i could but sadly life/job etc.Its like if not right off the bat im knocked off my feet by a profile without much or if any work needed im quickly skipping to the next profile...i know this is wrong but again i have very little spare time sadly to sit for a few days and tweek stuff at least at this point in my life.

Yeah, that's the thing about "samples." They're sales tools to move the merchandise. Demos / samples (for all musical gear) are frequently tweaked to within an inch of their lives to make it sound good and sell the gear. Which is kinda dumb in my opinion because if you cheat on your demos, you pretty much guarantee dissatisfied customers. Don't know if that's the case with STL or not.
So, it could be as simple as a manufacturer who puts out heavily massaged samples, and the profiles just don't sound like that. AdamMassacre1981, is this just with the STL profiles, or do you have the same problem with profiles from other companies?
I remember when i purchased Positive Grids bias amp a while back and i had the same struggles they just sounded like crap to me and yet they sounded great when advertised or demo'd online i was really starting to think it MUST be my interface (back when i had a focusrite solo 2nd gen) and that maybe the preamps are dogshit but when i purchased the 2i4 it was just the same.It breaks my ass because ive spent nearly 2k on this kemper and its just becoming not fun anymore...i have another more up to date DAW Reason 9.5 which has the ability to record guitars but im doubtful there will be a change.I really do appreciate the support and advice tho fellas \m/

- What back panel output are you using for "the out" - the master output, monitor output or direct output?
- What front panel knob are you using to select your output source - Main Output, Monitor Output, Direct Output or SPDIF Output?
- Regarding the front knob selection, I have no "DIRECT LEFT" option on any of my knobs. What version of the OS are you running?
For Main Output, I have these options. If that's not what you're seeing, I'd recommend updating to the latest version.

Try this.
- Plug the left Main Output into your Focusrite.
- Set your Main Output to Master Mono.
- Pick one of the six profiles from the list of samples provided at the bottom of the Brian Hood page (https://www.stltones.com/produ…od-producer-kemper-bundle).
- Reload your profile from the manufacturer so that you have the exact settings they sold you, with no alterations, including whatever their Pure Cab settings are.
- Record a test playing something very similar in style to what he's playing in the sample, using the guitar you think is the closest match.
- Post your playing sample and specify which guitar and profile it was so we can compare to the sample they provided.
We'll then have an apples to apples comparison between how the profile is "supposed" to sound and what you're getting. It's simply not possible for another guitarist to help you with a sound that's "bad" because that's highly subjective and the definition varies wildly from player to player. Being able to compare what you thought you were buying to what you were getting is different because we have a specific sound to use as a baseline. This will help us isolate the problem.
If your problem is "I don't get the same sound as the manufacturer" and you're reasonably close on guitar and playing style, it's probably a setup issue of some kind.
If the problem is, "I don't like the sound I'm getting," and it's as close as your guitar and playing will come to what they provide, it may indicate that you need to look for different things in third party profiles since it's always going to be colored heavily to your personal playing style, guitar, pickups, etc. - which will almost never be identical to the person who made the audio samples.
I don't see a reply to his question, and this is very important debugging information. What were your results when you compared headphones to what comes out of your speakers - was it the same problem in both, or did the headphones sound okay?

sorry dude for the late response!.I tried through my headphones but sadly i dont have the greatest set to realy get an accurate answer but there does seem to be a difference...a better sound not as phazy fizzy.
To isolate where the fizz comes from, first try with just headphones directly into the Kemper.
If it is still fizzy, it is likely some setting on the Kemper. If it is not, it is the interface or DAW.
Is it possible you've got an octave pitch shift locked on somewhere, Adam?
