The GP-10 is very decent as a guitar to midi device. As its to usb-midi, its got an advantage over my Terratec Axon AX-100 which needs a Roland UM-one cable to get your guitar midi into NI Kontackt.

I do need to do a back to back comparison of the RE-2 and the DD-500s space echo.
I do like the inbuilt delay of the RV-500, it makes the reverbs more interesting. The menu system isn't too bad either. I like this pedal

I like Boss pedals. But I'm not a fan of having the i/o sockets so close as its a pain for cabling.

In addition to buying an oddly shaped purple guitar. I've also had a minor Boss pedal buying spree.
A (used) Boss GP-10 for my 'guitar synth device' collection. Takes a 13pin midi guitar signal and triggers guitar and amp and fx models (its a decent multiFX for regular guitars), synth tones, alternate tunings, acts as an audio interface and midi note (over USB). And it runs on the same power as a drive pedal. Doesn't have a regular midi in or out socket which is a weird oversight considering all of the stuff it can do.
A (used) Boss RV-500. I'd like to try a DD-500 (to get some dual SDE mojo going on) and RV-500 combo. This is the start of that plan. Till then, it'll live in my rack's 'Time' drawer with the other Boss goodies. So far (after one evening with it. Its got some great reverb sounds. I do like a good Hall or Plate reverb, and this has very good ones. Can it do a 'Big Sky / Cloud' sound. Very nearly. Its odd that Boss don't make an RV-200 to fit in with the other XX-200 range. But the XX-500's have regular midi sockets, which is a winner for me.

Next Rig Manager update will have them! I don't know exactly when that is coming out though.
Yippee !!!!!!

I think it would be interesting, I wonder how 5" speakers and wooden enclosure add to the sound. I might test it against my THR30II (3.5" speakers), once it's available somewhere around.
The sound difference between those two 'in the room' in that video would be enough for me to make the jump from the plastic box to the wooden box with the bigger speakers.

I see you've got the MXR 10 band 'swiss army knife of drive pedals' eq pedal.
I've just bought one of those to mess around sculpting drive and acoustic sounds, but its also a hugely flexible drive pedal in its own right.
Also acts as a landing light for airplanes.

Video games? Who's got time for that?
There is ALWAYS time to play Lollipop Chainsaw !

Moving the rack was the same level of effort/work as redecorating and moving everything else

Nice find...but really.... who has a car that clean?
...and it's purple too! Don't tell V8.
I like a clean car !!

So. My youngest daughter is now taller than me. While my wife and daughters were visiting family in china this year, I redecorated the house and moved the bedrooms around. She's now got a much bigger room, and my old mancave is now a bedroom.
And this is now my 'guitar and videogame' room. Its also as small as it looks.
My collection of Playstations is on a shelf under the desk.
WITH a 2 story guitar case rack !!!
The wall of guitars is maybe overkill, I'm planning on rotating guitars out of the cases onto the wall every couple of weeks. For variety.

I live near a great guitar shop. I pass it every day. Which is a clear and present danger to my wallet
This was in their used/2nd hand area.
Yes its a complete ripoff of a Str*b*rg.
BUT It has outrageously good fretwork, and has shown me that I would almost get on very well with a Strandberg. [starts saving up]

Clean the usb socket ?

I bought a Lead12 practice combo amp new in 1988. Its still going strong, although I did give it to a phd student who helped me move house.

'Hello, I'm Johan Seg-e-born...................'
JS makes great videos, and he rates the Lead 12 too. Over, and over again.

Added a set of DI profiles to RM. Zip file link to those in original post above.
Let the fun begin !!
I tried the (non DI) profiles last night. Sounded like my Lead 12 stack - which came as no surprise ! Nice work.

The lead 12 (I've got two heads, a mk2, and a mk3) is ok through its own cab, but taking the DI/lineout signal through an IR is epic. I had great results with leads 12s and even with the Marshall DRP-1 recording preamp.
I think DI liquid profiles would be epic.

I have considered it for a second or two.
But as long as I don't see the community of (digital) guitar amps using parametric equalizers - or even for a better start, graphic equalizers - placed before the amp (!) to sculpture the guitar sound going into the distortion in a very easy way, I have no hope.
Using graphical EQs for that purpose is known since the 80ies, I guess.
Now with digital amps, it is a no-brainer in terms of cabling and noise issues.
But it hasn't made its way in 15 years. Has anyone ever tried it?
I have been waiting for long, that this existing 80ies technology, still present and evolved 'till today, will find a place in the guitar community.
For sure it is possible to further parameterize the tonestack technique from the 1940ies, by using advanced computer technique from the 2000's and todays.
As a player of a digital amp, do you need the technical echoes from the past, but combined with todays technique to improve it, to find your tone? I don't want to sell snake oil to you guys.
I think Billy Gibbons uses a graphic eq (a computer controlled one IIRC) in front of his amps in his live rig, but its to modify his guitar tone so that every guitar sounds like his pearly gates les paul. He's years ahead to model the past.

I just finished a batch of profiles for the most infamous Marshall practice amp ever made -- the Lead 12 3005 mini stack with original G10D-25 watt cabs. I have some Pristine, Clean, Crunch, and Distortion using the High and Low channels. I've also included some Liquid ones with the JCM 800 model because that's what Marshall tried to make with the little SS amp anyway. You can download below or from RM.
Note that the clean and some crunch profiles work great with a OD pedal in front. I use a BE-OD.
Please enjoy and Thanks!
