I am a recently new owner and I am shocked at how well thought through it is....you think " I'd like to do that" and virtually everytime you can!

Bass profiles won't change the frequencies you play. They're just optimized for bass in their tonality. Play on!

And, playing a bass through a guitar cab will not hurt the cab as long as it is not overloaded by too much amplifier power.
Yep. Transpose your guitar down by 1 oct and have fun with bass profiles. Or, harmonize 1 oct down
Single coil guitars, in particular, sound similar to Jazz and Precision basses when transposed down.
