This guy really is incredible. Love it. This ain't shredding. This is music.
-
He's amazing . He also has a brother , Dixie , an incredible bass player...
-
Unreal, so good.
-
Thi guy is simply unbelievable.
-
As you can see at 2:34...no post FX from the Kemper. Is this a sign?
-
Not necessarily a reflection on the quality of the FX. He may have just made the sensible decision not to print post FX until mixdown.
-
Do you think he's not playing live?
-
Looks like he's playing live. You can do that and not print FX.
-
You mean he played live, recorded it, printed FX afterwards and then sync'd audio and video? Hm...possible.
-
I don't think that he performed without any reverb or delay. You can clearly see that he has an audio interface and a laptop, so my educated quess is that he got the post effects from plug-ins.
-
Incredible performance and tones. So killer.

By the way, does anybody have the Erlend Krauser Tube Thomsen profile that was used at least on one of the older videos? The link from 2014 seems to be dead.
-
This guy is the Tommy Emmanuel of the electric guitar...
-
This guy is the real deal. Saw another video he did (last year?) showcasing the Kemper. This (and that) are/were outstanding examples of his musicality. Phenomenal player.
-
Wow, I wish we all end up mastering the left hand technique like him when we grow older I guess it take a lifetime to get the right connections in the brain. Jeff beck is another master of the hand picking & vibrato bar I love to study.

I was about to ask the same

Dont have facebook but I know this guy since I have seen him in germany with "James Last Orchestra"..well.."accidently" on TV..(James Last is not exactly Rock & Roll but he has top musicians). He has tons of Jeff Beck inside (which is my alltime hero next to Jimi) plus he has also achieved what I did not have seen since the 80s/early 90s ..nice tapping that is full of music and not cheap show off with no sense(I liked most of all Vito Bratta,Reb Beach and some other "sensual tapping"-guys back then).
Many of todays brainless 8-finger tappers should watch this..
I dont like to sound like "back in the 80s everything was better" since this is boring and stupid but in some way it has a lot of throuth ie guitar playing/technique/feeling.Today I am not impressed at all by players who can shred like the guitar heroes of the 80s/90s but without the vibrato, bendings, phrasing of that period..back then any good producer would have cut your fingers for "just shredding" without at least a nice 10 sec-intro melody for your 10 minutes-solo..

It's on Erlend's Youtube site:

We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy.BTW, judging by the some of the quick camera angle cut's with no camera operators in sight, I don't think it's a live recording but multiple takes edited together. Still doesn't take away from the amazing touch he has.
Cheers,
