How to profile resource/who's the best profiler poll

I agree it sure will. I think when you find a commercial/free profiler that works for you and your guitars, you seem to stick with them it's all down to personal taste. I know who's profiles work for me so I tend to stick with them

Not voted. Not sure I could. I've got profiles from most of the providers on the list. Depends on my mood, the sound I'm looking for, which guitar, which pickups, how good of a job I do in fine tuning the profile, etc. My favorites seem to change almost daily among a pool of about 60 profiles. I do have more profiles from a couple of the guys versus the rest, but not sure that makes them better. Just different. I'm grateful for the variety of folks that do the profiling as it gives me many options.

nightlight, I would definitely forget about the "Who's the best" part. If there is a consensus on this forum it's that sound preference is all personnal. You just said with relevance in another thread that "Relying on someone else to tweak for you is a recipe for disaster" I would say that it applies here too, someone else profiles preferences is not necessary yours, so no need for a contest IMHO. One of my favorite profile is the TAF Evil Robot but it's certainly not for everyone, so at the moment Andy is the best... for me!

Thanks for the mention. To the OP, I've posted several times on profiling techniques here and elsewhere. Not sure if it helped others, but it works for me.

This is very subjective and it's like asking who writes the best songs. Each of us have our own style and like one of the other comments some profiles fit certain musicians while others may not. Personally I have used profiles from 4 or 5 of the ones listed and depending on the sound you want each have their qualities. I look at it like this for example. I do not play metal but the profiles from Sinmix are really good, I would love to use many of them but the music I play they just wouldn't fit. Andy has many styles of profiles that fit the whole music spectrum, they also are good. What I look for are do they sound natural and full and represent the specific amp or cabinet. Plus I have downloaded many rigs from RE which are also good. So this is like saying just because you dislike jazz music it's not good. Untrue. Keep the profiles coming because I certainly enjoy playing many of them.
