Hi guys,
Just wondered if any of you guys are using real pedals in front of the KPA
i'm talking overdrive pedals or distortion pedals
if you are what are your favourites and how do you think the Kemper handles them

how do you feel like the Kemper handles them
just like an amp!
I've been wondering - how does it work with the clean sense setting - how much do you find you have to adjust that when you have pedal in front?

honestly, I have Clean Sense on '0' for a wide range of guitars/pickups.
I use pedals as I would in front of an amp: slight breakup, light crunch on the amp and the pedals add to that.
note that a gain of 0 on the Profiler means absolutely clean, cleaner than a clean tube amp, in my experience. A low gain setting, but > 0 will give you a nice compression, without adding obvious distortion.
Also, different amps react to pedals differently and the profiles reflect that, a good profile to use as a pedal platform (like the amp) is Mats Nermarks Traynor profile in the Rig Exchange.

I keep my clean sense on -4, but... that's only because that was the setting it was on and I've set up everything based on that. Oops.
That said, yes, it reacts just like the amp would. I've got a wah and 3 overdrives in front of my Kemper, and two FX in the stereo loop, and they sound just as good as they would through the actual amp (though, the amps I tend to use normally don't have an FX loop, but we're not gonna talk about that!).
Cool thanks for the replies. I was thinking of getting the new JHS Andy Timmons pedal.

Hi,
This profile was actually created to be a clean platform for pedals.
Happy to see that someone likes it.
Cheers,

I have an analogman bi comp and a klon in front of mine.
They both work as they do in front of the amps that have been profiled.
Yummy!

That looks like such a great pedal. Considering it just came out, you won't find any better deal than on JHS's site. Post some clips when you get it!

KPA is perfect to work with every type of effect pedals.... With overdrive and distortions it's just amazing!! Real response, dynamics, tone.... just like the real amps.
I think you'll be very happy when you try !!
Good luck
Works good for me
Thanks guys
I'll let you know how I get on

The KPA takes pedals identically to the reference amp. I use the profile of my Jackson Ampworks Scarlett 30 pretty clean and run this board in front of it.

Nice to see an Archer on your board ☺
Yeah the archer is fantastic and it's really small which is great.
